They say that the kitchen is the heart of any home.
I did not think our kitchen would be this for us when we first purchased the house, it was quite an uninviting, “meh” sort of space.
Now, amongst many things, I can see a lot of slow start Sunday mornings in here - I will make the coffee, Matt will take care of cooking breakfast - His speciality. I know, he is good at everything! 🤷🏼♀️🍳
Our kitchen may just be our heart after all. It certainly has a lot of soul in here now...
I look at it and see the effort Matt went to with these benchtops - Not just making them, but getting the heavy concrete slabs in the house! 😅 The vinyl floor he laid, and decided to run up the kicks will always be a credit to his craftiness! I’ll always remember what the cupboards once were and what they are now - As long and ridiculous that task was! And, I’ll always look at that beautiful Red Cedar end panel and know that Dad’s version of “I just joined some of my scrap pieces together” is actually the product of a 100% pure perfectionist who went above and beyond to get these turned around for the kitchen and laundry in just one week.
Yeah, I think we have heart here. ❤️🏡
