'In the salad garden, still no Iceberg Lettuce!'
We were freezing here in Ohio this week. The power was out, schools were closed. Leave it to @turnerfarmoh for capturing the moment perfectly. This made our week! Fantastic shot.
In continuous operation since the early 1800’s, @turnerfarm_oh has actively preserved our region’s old growth forests and and nearly 220 acres of woodland, pastures and streams of local, organic, low-impact food production land. From their sign outside that reads, “Don’t be shy, come I’m in, look around” they see themselves as an educational institution that links present to past. You may even be lucky enough to attend one of their amazing “Fork and Meadow” meals onsite where they are a part of 26 teaching kitchens across the country committed to promoting “food as medicine” using a variety of plants and animals, both domestic and wild. A collaborative founded by Dr. David Eisenberg of Harvard University. A truly amazing place that we are more than fortunate to have in our fair city.
Congratulations on your #hoppedweek selection!
In addition to growing hops in Ohio, we are on a mission to celebrate and identify the devoted people who support agriculture in our community, particularly those that brew your beer. Congrats to all the local talent out there who are taking the time to unearth the incredibly rich brewing and agricultural history of the region. Please check out the rest of this Iger's feed for more about this photo!!!
Thank you for following @hoppedfarms and tagging #hoppedweek. Keep 'em coming!______________________________
