This camp is SO special to me because almost 2 years ago I brought my own high school v-ball team here, never knowing that through the authenticity and deep spiritual impact of this volleyball camp, Jesus would completely "wreck" the course of my life, show me my fear of failure and man, humble me to admit my fears, teach me to pray for those who hurt me, wAlk with me through the journey of freedom through forgiveness, patiently work courage in me, birth a volleyball club, open my sticky hands, teach me trust blindly in the unknown, and now move me this weekend to Columbia!!! Thank you for praying because Jesus met us here again... 300 + athletes and coaches were encouraged, challenged, trained, poured into, served, and hopefully impacted for the Kingdom ...It all started last weekend when Jesus showed up at the very beginning of our huddle training and began to work revival in the hearts of the staff, including my own.
We were all challenged to step out and be captains on team Jesus instead of sitting on the bench waiting for God to use us! I loved the chance to "ugly train" our athletes, but my favorite part of camp was last night as the Spirit began to touch the lives of so many who came forward in front of their peers as accountability to give their hearts to Jesus Christ...testimony time was another highlight!
Thank you Coach Kim Hudson Kim Hudson Williams for who you are, how you lead with integrity, and your heart for this FCA ministry and these coaches/ athletes! It was an absolute joy serving alongside Coach Kim, Coach Katie, Coach Kim Abbott, the FCA staff, Nicole, Decole Shumate, Val, huddle leaders, and my court trainers (Joni, Rachel, Jimmy, Lindsay, and the entire CIU volleyball team) who also tirelessly spent all their energy and passion training this week!
High school coaches- thank you for being a blessing...keep impacting and investing in the lives of these kids!! Coach Amber Haver- thank you and your precious v-ball girls for selflessly serving our camp and athletes ALL WEEK LONG! #huddle
