Hello friends I hope you are having an amazing day. It's been quite some time since I've pick up my crochet hooks and yarn and got creating. Not going to lie, the stress of moving from WV to SC, applying to jobs, finding a house and acclimating to a new environment paired with the oh so fun cocktail of mental health issues definitely got the best of me.
Today I woke up feeling exhausted and depleted of all desire to do anything. So I took a nap, decided that I was not going to let another gorgeous day pass me by , ate some nutritious foods, filled my thermos with refreshing homemade kombucha, dusted off my crochet bag, filled it with snacks and plenty of water and finally made my way out to our complex's pool. I probably spent about 3 hrs tanning, listening to Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic (HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all you creative folk or anyone with ideas to create anything) snacking and enjoying this gorgeous sunny and 81 degree day in SC. #selfcare
I'm SO happy I did. I feel energized, ready to re-start my daily crochet and excited to be posting here again. It's easy to talk yourself into feeling like a failure and fraud when you abandon an idea for some time, but as I learned from listening to Big Magic, being creative is not supposed to be easy--but to be successful you need to work through the struggles, not wait for inspiration to find you.
So here's to a *productive* #humpday of living my best life, staying humble, realizing that it's okay if it's hard to stay motivated, and that my job right now is to be c o n s i s t e n t.
Shout out to everyone who has asked for custom requests, I have not forgotten about you, I WILL get you your orders. Thank you for being so patient.
Now tell me, how's your hump day going? What is one way you were productive today?
