HOTEL REVIEW: Canopy by Hilton Portland ———
This was my first trip to the Pacific Northwest, and I was stoked to stay at a new lifestyle concept by Hilton. Think a lesser Andaz by Hyatt in terms of interior design but (attempted) personalized service and budget friendly (and there’s pretty much only one room type) like Southwest Airlines. This was also the first time I tried the Hilton app that allowed me to text staff and to avoid the hassle of calling for recommendations/extra amenities. I also enjoyed the filtered water/ice station on every floor for easy hydration access. The app also acts as a room key—how convenient! Breakfast service was excellent. Gym was small but functional—with a beautiful rooftop. At check-in, my glass shower request wasn’t honored, so I ended up with a gunky curtain shower/tub combo 🙃. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the cement floors, too... Normally, lifestyle hotels would not be my go-to choice due to their claustrophobic atmosphere, but it ended up being a wonderful choice for exploring trendy Oregon!
