Im 38 going on 39 and my joints like to remind me that 30 years of athletics and high level sports (most if them contact sports) play a bit of a toll on the body... I stepped back from tackle football about 5 years ago (unwillingly) anf took up bodybuilding and #powerlifting and now I'm #Bodybuilding and #weightlifting full time.

I actually hurt my left shoulder initially as a nurse moving a coding patient (which I dont blame or regret one bit) and it has nagged me since on and off but I keep tweaking it while I #snatch and it's getting right on my nerves I tell ya.... Now I start rehab as I have a big #goal to compete in Masters Worlds in 2019 and I need to be 100% so I will start physio and add in Joint Mobility to get me 100% over the next year.

Little bit of my ab workout from yesterday. I wasn’t feeling 100% so I did some light shoulder/chest work then focused on my abs.
1. Alternating Toe Taps (takes some core balance)
2. Romanian twists
3. 30sec Plank
4. Stability ball pass throughs
Not shown: walk outs, hanging straight leg raises, hanging knee raises, and cable crunches.
4x10-15 on everything
Now I’m home sick as dog all thanks to my daughter and her daycare 😭😭

I want to keep running the race as if there is no finish line.
I feel like I’ve gotten to this place that I never thought it was even possible.
I thought I was too old.
I thought this isn’t my time anymore.
But then I made that decision back at the end of July... and I kept working at it.
I kept proving to myself that I could.
Now I feel even more hungry and inspired to keep chasing the next win, to keep learning, to keep growing, to keep reinventing and to keep creating. -I’ve got a lot more to prove.

¡MIS DISCULPAS A LA INDUSTRIA🤫! El sistema digestivo así como todos los sistemas de nuestro cuerpo, es sencillamente PERFECTO.

La única forma de que un sustrato energético no sea absorbido es cuando su metabolizacion no se cumple por la ausencia de una enzima, que en este caso sería la amilasa.

Y en este escenario al no ser absorbido, sencillamente es expulsado, lo que se traduciria en diarrea.

E incluso en este caso no es totalmente verídico que se expulse el 100% del sustrato consumido.

La evidencia científica y anecdótica más reciente 👇

2 grupos de personas con dietas exactamente idénticas, en estado cetogenico.

Al 1er grupo se le suministró un placebo y una comida compuesta con 50% carbohidratos, 25% grasas y 25% proteína.

Al 2do grupo se le suministró un "bloqueador de carbohidratos" y exactamente la misma comida

Ambos grupos tuvieron el mismo resultado, incremento de insulina y salida del estado de cetosis, alguna mínima variación pero produciendo al final el mismo efecto.

Lo que quiere decir que el supuesto "bloqueador de carbohidratos" no logró cumplir con su promesa.

Así que si el objetivo es bloquear los carbohidratos, la única forma es no comiendolos, utilizando una máscara como la de bane es posible 😁

Por otro lado si el bloqueador causa la inhibición de la enzima (algo que de plano es insalubre), es mucho más económico y fácil con un laxante que probablemente cueste 10 veces menos.

This is for anyone who wishes they had someone else’s body. I do it too. I’ve selected my dream physiques like @huldalopezhn, @krisstananic, @trish_mowatt orr @missmiafit but I also am very aware, they didn’t wake up like that. We all have a journey, a story, struggles, and triumphs. This journey is ours, alone; and lonely it can be. I tear apart my body daily, the last picture isn’t even at my heaviest, it was taken in December when I started finally training for a show. I will ALWAYS see the 300+ pound reflection. I will never be 100% happy but I know now, just as I do, people look at my current physique and it’s on their list of goals. I’m aware I’m being watched by @jordan.sims33 and it’s my job to show him commitment, dedication, sacrifice as well as struggle. I am happy, but I am not satisfied. I’m grateful for my 🚫🎂#teamnocake @jaymee_km, @stephanie_grrrl, @bridge_raftery and my gym girlfriend @daniesunday. I apologize for taking so much time off of socail media, but come to find out, the first couple weeks after getting married are just as crazy as before! •

That being said, I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that I have officially earned my Specialist in Sports Nutrition certification through the ISSA!! I am just a couple days away from taking my final for my Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification too! •

All my bases are covered this morning. I’ve got MicroFactor for health, CBD for wellbeing, RoyalXXI for energy, Level1 for quick fuel, and coffee! Ready to tackle all my work tasks and errands.
I used to slow down on Fridays, but now I work extra hard. I’ve recognized the satisfaction of starting Monday with a clean slate because of my efforts on Friday and Saturday. And I’ve gotten better at not letting people tell me my priorities are wrong for wanting to work hard. I’ve got a three day weekend in CA next week that is going to be great because I’m knocking out big goals now!

ch-ch-ch-changes 😋 y’all. Change is hard. But change is good. This is one change I am very thankful and happy for. After I gained so much weight post pregnancy and struggling through my daughter’s medical issues, I turned into someone I did not recognize. That happy-go-lucky, confident girl I once was, was getting harder to find. I was drowning in stress, anxiety, fear... all while trying to remain hopeful and fight for my daughter’s life. I didn’t even realize how much weight I put on until I had to go to the doctor and they asked me to step on the scale and I was HORRIFIED. I knew I wasn’t at all where I was pre-pregnancy... But man, seeing that number was a huge wake up call. I knew I had to make changes ASAP and ✨voila✨ after A LOT of hard work, good days, and bad days, I am finally feeling like ME again. I had a great workout this morning! Did some resistance training with heavier weight and low reps. My muscles felt like they were going to explode out Of my skin!
