Let’s talk about triggers.... ______
The word trigger is often seen in a negative light. 👎 Although it can be, not all triggers are inherently “bad” I for one have found the use of “positive” triggers to be quite useful.
When I was working through my ED, identifying my triggers and altering them were my key. When recovering from ED the thoughts, behaviours, patterns etc... linger long into and after recovery, so still to this day I find myself utilizing some triggers. For example: to work on my go to excuse of “I just don’t have time to eat” ⏰ (while also wasting so much time in my days). I used time “triggers” in my day to pair with eating, before leaving the house; I eat, at shift change; snack time, after lunch duties; my lunch time no matter what, and so on. 🥗 These triggers helped me incredibly, so it was only logical to use triggers and adopt them elsewhere in my life.
When I wake up; I stretch, while I drink my preworkout; I do a 30 minute power hustle, before bed; I roll out my muscles and so on. You get the point... 🤗Now I know this might sound silly to some, I for one was sceptical the first time I was introduced to the idea. Honestly however it has done WONDERS for many different aspects of my life from recovery to productivity to overall healthier habits. If nothing else just give it a shot, it may be transformative 💕💕
