Last weekend I burnt my lips while camping combo sun & wind & my regular lip balm was not really helping so I made my own! Within 5 hours my lips are no longer sore or cracking, woohoo good for You ingredients for the win! Recipe below Ingredients
12 lip balm tubes
2 tbsp. coconut oil
2 tbsp. beeswax
1 tbsp. shea butter
1 tbsp. castor oil
1 tsp. non-nano zinc oxide (optional if you want some SPF)
10 drops DōTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil
10 drops DōTERRA Frankincense Essential Oil
Gently melt the coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, and castor oil in a double boiler or glass bowl set in a saucepan of simmering water.
Remove from heat and whisk in zinc oxide (if using) and essential oils. Very important, do not overheat your oils put them in last!
Quickly pour into the tubes. Allow to set and cap the containers.
Tip: a SUPER easy way to create less mess and possibly spillage is to band together the empty tubes with a rubber band and pour nice and easy.
