My daughter made my lunch 😊(minus frying the 🍳 egg) kids are so curious about the kitchen and food... and they’re smart. I have taught thousands of children and actually - THEY taught ME that if you treat them with respect and offer them a chance to genuinely get involved in their learning, they will get into it! ⠀

It’s not always the case with a toddler 🙃 but I’ve been making more effort lately to include her in the process versus just putting on some tv while I try to cook... (that does still happen, I am certainly not even close to perfect with it but trying to improve ) I want her to know that she is completely capable of putting together a healthy “meal” at age 2 and beyond! 🥑🍅🥚 also, beginning to talk about what “healthy” even means and why it’s important.
It’s never too early. They are sponges - give them the tools so they can take an active role in their own health when the time comes! #ittakesavillage

Sometimes in life we find ourselves in a place that seems to go nowhere and ‘that’ question will pop up... “what should I do with my life…” 🤷‍♀️
It’s okay if you don’t know... Take some time to reflect. Ask yourself questions... big and small ones. Meditate. Get to know your inner you! Dream big. But remember- you will have to take actions, try new things and make decisions. todays juice spread 💚
I am sick. Like legit sick. So sick that I have to take antibiotics, and I was pretty salty about it because I know the effects they have on my gut bacteria.. BUT I’m just a human, and no matter how much damn broccoli I eat- I will still get sick sometimes. So I’m just poppin the double strength @hyperbiotics every time I take my antibiotics, juicing like crazy, and staying out of the cold. Brighter days will come ✨ I juiced an apple, ginger, lemon, cucumber, dandelion greens, celery, and some rainbow chard 🍃 Have a great Wednesday, and count your blessings if you’re feeling well today!

A non-negotiable part of my morning routine that helps me stay grounded & connected to my intention to live into the true meaning of the holidays? A quick lil journal sesh. I’m all about realistic, practical ways to set yourself up for improved mental & physical health, so no 45 minute intensive deep dive happening over here. Just 5 minutes to ask a few key questions & remind myself to stay present, grateful & connected to my inner wisdom. I like to ask:
1️⃣how do I want to show up for myself today? (Sometimes it’s just by being present & in my body, other times it’s by making choices that support my health, even when tempted to do otherwise)
2️⃣how do i want to show up for others (the answer is very often “be kind, especially when it is hardest)
3️⃣what kind of day do I want to have? (This helps me recognize & respond to varying levels of energy, focus, desire to be social in a compassionate way rather than forcing everything for the wrong reasons). I feel totally inspired today. Yesterday my enrollment kit came from @doterra and after opening it all up, I immediately starting playing with all of my new goodies. While deep in an evening long self-care ritual, with my new essential oils diffusing, I had one of those 💡 moments, where a bright new idea pops into your mind out of no where. Even with the excitement, I slept great, and woke up feeling refreshed, energized, and excited to get to work!
So here it is...I am designing a full day workshop called Emotional Intelligence, which will be all natural wellness for mental health! And my Mom is going to be my co-pilot for my new project! The workshop will include nutrition, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, guided meditation, yoga, self massage instruction, color therapy, and healing rituals. Would you be interested? After working on getting the ball rolling on this new project, I stopped to break my intermittent fast with this dreamy coconut, açaí, rice, and chia pudding. It is easily the most delicious thing I have eaten so far this month!
2 tips for making yours...
1. Soak your brown rice before you cook it to make it more digestible, and require less zinc for absorption, leaving you with healthier zinc levels.
2. Take your pot off the stove, let the pudding cool a little, and then add your honey and açaí powder so that you don’t damage the healing potential of these ingredients.

I love legumes!! I used to call myself “Bean Girl.” —Cute, I know. 😝 But there’s no doubt that legumes, nuts, seeds, + grains are highly controversial due to the “anti-nutrients” they contain. Some people are better off just avoiding all together (esp those with GI or AI issues). For those of us wanting to experiment, try soaking, sprouting (basically extended soaking), or fermenting to decrease the downsides of these potentially nutritious plant foods. ☝️ EASY PLAN— soak beans over night, rinse, toss in crockpot in the morn with kombu or epasote— enjoy delicious nutritious beans when you get home! 👋 #beangirl

Oven baked sweet potatoe fries tossed in herbs and olive oil for a healthy mid-week side.

If you know me you’ll know how much I love sweet potatoe fries 😍 I wanted to share my recipe with you as I absolutely love baking them. They’re perfectly crisped, they’re flavourful and they’re beyond addictive. I simply couldn’t wait until FRYday to share them with you!

All you sweet potato lovers will want to try them and they’re so easy to make 🍠
.
Ingredients: 2 x organic medium sized sweet potatoes, Greek organic extra virgin olive oil - one of the benefits of drizzling your sweet potatoe fries is the presence of polyphenols, which act as powerful anti-inflammatory effect! 2 tsp rosemary, thyme and a couple of pinches of salt.

Recipe: Set your oven to 200c and line a baking tray with baking paper. While the oven heats up, wash any dirt off with cold water, dry them and there’s no need to peel them. Chop the sweet potatoes into half lenghtways, and then cut each half in half leghtways do this until you’ve cut them all up. Add them to a bowl and add the olive oil & herbs. Take them from the bowl and spread them out on the baking tray in a single layer and bake for 40 minutes, or until they get golden and crispy. Once cooked leave them to cool for a couple of minutes and transfer them into a serving dish. I like to serve mine with @doctor_wills ‘tomato ketchup’ ♥️

🙋🏻‍♀️ For those who know me it is quite obvious my love for travelling.
I try to travel as much as I can (aka my wallet allows me!). Travelling helps me to put my life into a different perspective. When I travel I think about the things I’ve achieved, the people I have in my life and the things I yet hope to achieve.
In the end of a trip, no matter how short it is I always understand one more thing about myself.
This time the insight was: There is no point on spending your time and energy on a place that you don’t feel well from the beggining. There is no point on struggling to feel ok next to that person, in that city, wearing that dress... These things should be easy. We should feel comfortable from the beggining. And if that doesn’t happen it only means we need to skip that city, avoid that person, throw that dress away. Because the same way we change shoes when they don’t fit we should change that city, that relationship.. We don’t rush to change our feet, so why should we struggle to adapt to a place, a city or anything that we don’t feel ourselves in it?

The World Kindness day was yesterday but let me remind you how important is to be kind to yourself everyday. Let me remind you that it is important to know how to adapt to different situations and dimensions. however it is even more important to respect yourself, your desires and your mental health. ☀️🌈 .

I am very conscious of what I eat, I move my body regularly, I have soulfilling relationships, I try and get enough sleep (as much as an infant will allow), but yet something was still off. I was still “off”. Finally, putting my pride aside, I set off for the doctor hoping for answers. I am thankful to have a doctor that listened to me and we decided together, what tests to get done. I go for my follow-up visit to be told I have an underactive thyroid and need more tests. After the subsequent tests, I am diagnosed with Hashimotos. I’m flooded with emotion; relief knowing I have a reason behind my symptoms, fear because I believe my body is attacking itself (why?!), and anticipation for what’s to come. I ask my doctor for just 3 months to see if I can’t get this under control without medication and she thankfully agrees.
So I do what I do best, I researched and read and asked and discussed and time and time again, came to this book. This book has brought me so much information, and connected so many dots. My body isn’t attacking itself, my body is trying to protect itself. It’s bringing healing to a whole new level. My games been upped, I’m prepared with knowledge and experience. Now I am filled with excitement, to heal myself, to feel like myself again. I know it can take a lot of effort to change and adopt new habits, so join me in my journey to health.

1 tbsp @pbfit.official powdered peanut butter
Few good shakes of @simplyorganicfoods cinnamon
small handful of ice
Directions:
Add to high speed blender and blend until smooth, tamping as necessary
