“Slow to anger.” As I was reading my devotional this morning, I thought about those words. “Slow to anger” and I just had a little gut punch from God. 😳😳😳 I was thinking about all of the things that we see on Social Media and we retweet or hit the share button. But I have really been working on my heart for awhile and I think it hit me that hitting like or share should always come with a question.... “What feeling does that give me?” If we want to be a light in this world, it doesn’t matter if we are Democrats, Republicans, attend church or not. But what matters is that we are loving and kind. And that goes for online.... If we read something that is sad or makes us angry, why in the world do we want everyone else to feel and feed off of that emotion?
So, this is a call to action... if we are truly to be a light in this world, we have to do a gut check about what we share, like, comment, and post about. Our message should be of love, hope, caring, doing.... and not a message of anger and sadness. So, before we hit the “share” or “retweet” think about the emotion that is tied to that. If it is one to anger, hate, dislike, or resentment, maybe it is better off to just keep scrolling.
