Don’t forget to snuggle.
I don’t know if it’s a second child thing, or the fact that I’m pretty sure I literally birthed giants, but I frequently forget how young Enoch is. He talks a ton for his age, and he’s very physical, so sometimes I get stuck in this repetitive cycle of seeing him as like a 3 or 4 year old. I find myself in those “I can’t wait until” thought cycles of them being more independent, less demanding and defiant, and just generally easier..but the other day I climbed in his bed with him and we snuggled, and he actually felt his age.
Anywho, this isn’t a super clear or concise post, but I’m mega tired...I guess in short, mamas (and dads!), don’t forget to snuggle. These boys have been ridiculously challenging lately and I could use the reminder myself that they won’t be young and squishy and illogical for long (although let’s be real, brain development..they really will be illogical for quite a while..) so snuggle and squeeze and enjoy while you can!
Also, is it just me? Do y’all do this? And more experienced parents, did you notice the same behaviors in your second children and yourselves? Drop us some wisdom below please!
