I think I’ll need to brew it in early fall this year and let it condition in the keg for a couple of months before it goes in the keeper. This was my first creation over 10% ABV. Cervisiam tap takeover at Panema Bar. Overall disappointed. The best beer I had was S'morbidly Obese Imperial stout which I had first time in Mikkeller beer shop in Cph. I got strange aromas/taste from many of their beers with mushroom notes in their Oatsome threesome and methyl salycilate and new shoes smell/plastic sole smell in Prince of dankness, the same taste you gonna smell when you buy shoes and many of their ipas have either slight sour note and/or astringent taste. Their Milk stout with Frontaal called Death by Disco is massive teddy bear candies forward with peach/apricot/strawberry liqueur or syrup character. Very odd, definitely not in imperial stout character but more of an imperial black IPA with artificial berry notes as melted teddy bear or strawberry candies. Since it’s 4/20, I decided to crack this one open. Still bummed that @jwakefieldbeer won’t have the terpene beer today...it was #forbidden But this sweet barrel aged coffee stout will help brighten my day! #stayup
@carolinabauernhaus got us with their Oconee Pale Ale, an old school hoppy with pale that drinks light and finishes strong.
And finally, we hooked up the beast that is the @eviltwinbrewing Imperial Biscotti Break. Velvety smooth with an 11.5% booze blanket and a kick of vanilla and black coffee, you can't miss this one, especially at this price.
Prairie Vanilla Noir - 11% Imperial Stout aged in whiskey barrels along with vanilla beans.
Well it's Prairie so you know good things await and yup this beer delivers.
Upfront you get lovely whiskey barrel, vanilla and sweet molasses, then dig deeper and there's chocolate, roasted oak, fudge, burnt marshmallows and tobacco.
Aroma is very nice chocolate and cocoa. Extremely smooth taste, rich chocolate and cocoa, not overwhelming, but surprisingly well balanced and easy to drink despite its high Abv and pronounced flavors. Aftertaste is exactly like chocolate milk, uncannily so. This is like drinking Litago spiked with booze.
Mindblowing beer, absolutely recommend it for the chocolate loving stout drinker!
