Progressive Overload, Not Progressive Overcomplicating
A few things are absolute musts in a quality training (and rehab) program: progressive overload. Progressing the intensity, volume, load, distance, etc. Whatever the variable in your case may be. This is what drives adaptation. The best part, you can progressively overload the basics!
Progressively over-complicating, on the other hand, is not something I put into my programs. Tons of flashy exercises, ridiculous equipment, and new things just for the sake of being new, completely unnecessary.
