Here’s my Monday morning routine I’ve be doing for years that has vastly improved my quality of life. I get up early drink water, listen to a few good songs & a motivational video. I fuel up with something small, today was a few spoons of local honey, peanut butter & an amino energy shake with caffeine & amino acids. Do a little warm up in the house & then hit the road for a 5k run in around 20 minutes listening to some of my favourite music - today was old school angry rap music DMX. This routine helps me get my mind right, be more productive, be nice to people all day & set me up for the week ahead. If I was out boozing on Saturday night, I don’t stay in bed feeling sorry for myself, I get up & the work gets done no matter how I feel. I don’t let the little bitch voice inside my head take over. I would highly recommend a similar routine with a walk/weights/home workout to get your shit together first thing Monday morning. (Plus every other morning) You’ll feel much better for it. If you’re gaining weight or have gained weighed in the past then you’ve over-consumed in calories for a period of time in respect to your bodies needs.

The sooner you accept that reality then the sooner you can move forward & make progress in losing weight (if you need or want to). It’s not the foods fault, it’s yours!

Fuelled my way through the last 4 days on site in Marlay Park for Bruno Mars and Longitude with @bangenergy drinks.

The Citrus Twist and Star Blast flavours were really delicious and refreshing. Exactly what I needed for a boost half way through a 14 hour shift on my feet. Delighted I had them to review and try out for @leydenssportsnutrition

Good Morning🌞

Week 4 of my plan is officially a wrap. We made some more steady & sustainable progress with the guidance of this gem @abigail_gould 🌟🌟 Fat loss & retaining as much muscle as possible was the goal & that's exactly how its playing out! Weight down, measurements down, starting to notice some definition in my legs & some really welcomed added strenght in my back, which I'm excited about because that has been my weakest area since Day 1.
And now I'm ready to do it all over again for week 5 💪But I'm not going to lie, when I woke up this morning all I wanted to really do was stay in bed. But I got up, got dressed, (currently sipping on a coffee) & now I'm ready to put the work in! 2xwork shifts ahead of me, study, & a Chest, Shoulders & Triceps session to get in & they will all be checked off my list by the time I go to sleep tonight👊. I get excited & feel grateful every time I wake up to a new day, so just because I woke up to this one feeling a little tired (a really insignificant complaint in the scheme of things) I won't let it have a negative effect on the rest of my day.Even when it seems tough & takes more of an effort than usual, I am dedicated to bettering myself, learning from my weaknesses, rising to a challenge & overcoming it!
But in the pursuit of becoming our next best selfs know that its not all rainbows, candyfloss & unicorns, we are human, & by our very nature we will screw up & that's more than okay, its NORMAL✌️. With that said, no matter what happened yesterday, or last week, or 5 minites ago, we have control over what we choose to do right now. And the truth is, no matter what you choose to do today, the sun is going to set either way regardless of whether you approached the day with a positive or negative attitude. All I know, its that the sun set is a given, there is an allocated amount of time to everyday & there's no guarentees that we will rise to meet the next one. Time is precious, so my motto is to choose to atleast make a conscious decision to try to make the best out of every good & bad situation.

I've been going to @the_strength_gym for about six weeks now, the longest I've ever been going to a gym, but decided not to share anything until I felt I'd hit a milestone, joined the 100 club today, 100kg x 5 deadlift. Best way to get good at exercise?

Start doing it. •
Information overload is everywhere & now more than ever in fitness. When I first started going to the gym there was fuck all places to get information. What I knew came from the older people in the gym or @bodybuildingcom which even back then was difficult to access as I started going gym before wifi was even a thing where I live (old). Did the limited information mean I didn’t bother? No way, I just got stuck in. Sure I did a million things wrong which I look back on & cringe at but I learned valuable lessons from the mistakes & can say from experience what works & doesn’t work for me.

Contrast that to today, where people are basically coming away from google search thinking they have phds in nutritional science & anatomy because they read a livestrong article. More nutritionists than ever now because people watch a Netflix documentary & think they know it all. •
But the worst part about the information overload is how it’s holding people back from DOING. You can read all you want about the best way to diet, most favourable macros, meal timing, insulinz etc. You can watch videos of exercise execution until your eyes bleed. However you can have all the information in the world but unless you use it & take action then that information is useless.

An engineer can know everything theres is to do with a car but never be able to drive one. You must be able to drive the car as well as understand it. Driving the car will get you to where you want to be, reading the manual only helps you understand it. You need to be 49% engineer, 51% driver.

Spinach, mushroom and feta baked eggs 🍄🍃🧀🥚 with toast 🍞 Late breakfast but worth it. Fried off some mushrooms 🍄 and wilted some spinach. Into ramekins along with an egg in each and some feta (optional) baked for 15-20mins at 180. I used to be you 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ Genuinely I was the pickiest person going. Now I'm still a bit weird with some things touching each other on a plate and I'm never going to be a cauliflower fan but I've changed DRAMATICALLY. Why? Well to be totally honest I just grew up. I know it's hard for some to hear but that's exactly what it is. 🙈 Now obviously intolerances are a totally different kettle of fish 🤪 But if you are just choosing to eat broccoli as your only veg, fish doesn't exist in your diet and potatoes are your only starch and it's purely down to not trying other foods, you really need to broaden your horizons👊

You are missing out on so much nutrients and whole foods by keeping your diet so limited. You won't like them all. That's understandable but at least try 👍

P. S up until recently I couldn't stand Goats cheese but because I eat very little meat I had to start finding higher protein alternatives. After a few tries I'm a fan 👆

🔥STOP RESTRICTING YOURSELF🔥

One of the best things you can do is lose the notion that certain foods are meant for certain times of day. This was my breakfast today & it was delicious.

So many people are stuck thinking that you’re only breakfast options are typical “breakfast foods” like oats, eggs etc.... This leaves you so limited on options.

Having different foods like this chicken salad at breakfast is more of mental battle for most people because they’re stuck in the traditional mindset. Learning to break out of that really makes staying on track much easier in my opinion. #breakfast

Beauitful Ireland at its finest, just in front off croagh patrick at the beech were I got the oppurtunity to see an amazing sunset while I camped! It's a great way to get out off your comfort Zone by doing things by yourself sometimes so I decided to get the train to mayo and cycled to croagh patrick and climbed it then camped out for the night which was a great experience! Maybe you think I'm mad but everybody is different haha.

#ExerciseOfTheDay : Anti-rotation Alphabet

A great core exercise. Use a cable stack or a band, and position yourself at a 90 degree angle from the rack. 'Draw' the letters of the alphabet while keeping your midsection engaged.

A green shake to start the week. If, like me, you didn’t have the healthiest weekend a green shake is a brilliant kick start to getting back on track.... A large handful of spinach, half an avocado, a scoop of vanilla protein, a load of frozen blueberries and some unsweetened almond milk should do the trick!

Macros: I actually misread yesterday’s cals but have amended now. For some reason I thought these had 18g protein. They infact have 7 which is quite low and I’m sure for some is inconvenient but I usually hit protein pretty easily so I don’t mind. This same theory applies to your workouts. If you find a method of training you like you will never resent having to go to workout 💪🏼 Most people are oblivious to the amount of different methods to train. If they don’t like ‘the gym’ they rule out the prospect of ever liking it. This in itself is daft, that’s like saying I don’t like ‘the kitchen.’ It’s what you do or make in the gym/ kitchen that matters!
