Lasagna, contrary to popular belief did not originate in Italy but in Greece where it was called the Greek word for the first known form of pasta - ‘Laganon’. This lasagne is not the lasagna we know today, only after a few centuries in Italy was this dish truly refined into this lovable pasta dish. Although the first documented recipe of lasagna is from the British, it is well known that Italians are the ones who perfected it.
