Happy Father’s Day!
My late dad fueled my passion of cars at an early age. He already knew I had the bug at age 3 with my first Hot Wheels car 🤣. He took me to numerous car shows, bought car toys and surprised me with my first go-kart at age 8.
Then at age 11 (cue up the rock music 🤟🏼) he bought a 1980 Corvette (Pic 1 & 2) off a good family friend @boldupstart . Needless to say, I was a hit with all my friends in the neighborhood. The Vette brought us together even closer traveling to Carlisle and Bloomington Gold Corvette shows. He even had the balls or lost his mind 🤣to let me drive it at 16 and take my friends out. It wasn’t super quick but with the t-tops off on a sunny day it didn’t matter.
His previous rides 👉🏻(scroll left)
Pic 3 - 1969 Mustang Mach 1 (351 4 speed Silver Jade color) he bought after the service. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics of it (found pic on internet). He raced it, wrecked it into a tree and generally beat the shit out of it. At one point, my mom said it was like he was living out of it with clothes and crap everywhere. The road salt did it in as most cars in the Northeast . Wish he would have kept it. Might have to put one on my bucket list of future buys.
Pic 4 - 1966 Triumph TR-4A British Racing Green that he bought from A&L motors in Monroeville before the military. This one as well I don’t have a picture of 😥 (pic found on internet). It broke down a good bit due to the famous Lucas electrical gremlins and overheated frequently. He became a mechanic overnight 🤣when he signed the papers.
