This is part of a commissioned project based on a clients tattoo collection. I’ve been tattooing for nearly 15 years and have spent the majority of that time drawing, painting and surrounding myself with piles of paper. Digital art in the tattoo industry gets some negative feedback but to evolve and develop is natural. I once hand stencilled everything and made my own needles but times change. We all happily enlarge our designs on a photocopier, stencil with a Thermofax, tattoo with the latest machine, autoclave our equipment, illuminate our workstations with mains electricity lights and see through modern prescription glasses. Embracing technology isn’t a bad thing but if it’s not your thing, then that’s fine.
The ability to create designs and artwork comparatively quickly means I have more time to spend (watching tv) with my family 😉
