Shaved ice topped with Kinako (#きな粉 roasted soybeans flour)
Wagashi Kurogi (#廚菓子くろぎ ) ... opens at 9 am, and basically not taking reservations
Wagashi Kurogi is a Japanese confectionery shop and cafe operated by Kurogi, which is one of my favorite and probably one of the most popular Kaiseki cuisine restaurants in Tokyo♡.
To be honest I’m not a big fan of shaved ice, but it’s an exception. So exquisite and fine taste. I can eat the oversized shaved ice every month here, even in winter
The shop is located within the Tokyo University Hongo Campus.
Whatever you do if you go to Odori Park in Sapporo don’t miss the gorgeous sculpture playground. The huge polished stone and marble slides were a lot of fun. Teenagers were out on the slides playing with all the little children and it was really nice to see everyone having such a good time. We played here for about 2 hours just on the 2 big slides, it’s an ingenious design for everyone to enjoy (kids not a necessity!).
Shelly Beach ~ by Manly Australian Cafe & Bar ~ is located in the center of Fukuoka City, about 10 minutes by foot from Tenjin. It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends and take amazing food photos for the ‘gram. Link in bio to know more!
@backpacksandbabygrows Instagram Takeover #day17⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve been a bit quiet on Instagram as for the last couple of days we were preparing to leave Tokyo and head north to Hokkaido and stay in Sapporo. We’re here now and loving the dryer climate! .
We’ve made it at the perfect time to see some flowers bloom too which was great as we missed all that in Tokyo. So today we went to Odori Park as it’s the 60th Lilac Festival. One of the things I love about Japan is how much everyone respects and reveres nature; it really seems to bring people together. Everyone comes out to see and celebrate the blooming of different flowers when they arrive and it just seems like such a happy time of year. .
The festival is held from May 16th - 27th and you will find not just flowers but a big international food fair, a wine garden and many workshops like origami, calligraphy and an outdoor tea ceremony. .
Whatever you do if you go as a family don’t miss the gorgeous sculpture playground. I’ll post more pics of this later but the huge polished stone and marble slides were a lot of fun. Teenagers were out on the slides playing with all the little children and it was really nice to see everyone having such a good time. We played here for about 2 hours before munching away on some of the food and eating ice cream. .
