When Batman and Scarecrow have their moment, Batman uses Scarecrow's own nightmare gas on him and we see The Demon Batman through Scarecrow's eyes. . . .
This is that cowl. Originally conceptualized to be worn by Christian Bale, they ended up going digital for the scenes and laying a cgi demon face over Bale. This cowl than became the reference model for the cgi artists. . . .
