Well, I should have known at 5 this morning when my daughter told me she was ill and had a tummy ache that she was genuinely ill. Ofcourse, I’m self employed so I got her up and dressed anyway. I have to go to work. No sick pay for me and I’ve paid for the childcare. As I’m in the shower I hear a lot of commotion and then my husband shouting “ She’s been sick. It’s everywhere! Sorry. Off to work. Bye”. So, I stand there with conditioner still in my hair, consoling a vomit covered child. The problem is, even after they have redecorated their bedroom you still look for a glimmer of hope that they’ll be ok to go to childcare. Maybe she just coughed and it was an accident. Then she throws up all over the bathroom. Nope. Bug. My husband has prize giving at his school today and can’t take the day off, grandparents live no where near us so I will have to miss a whole days work and pay. Not to mention the childcare I have already paid for.
Hey, these things happen and I’ll just have to suck it up. With a 48 hr exclusion after sickness she’s coming to work with me tomorrow too! What a spiffing end to the week. Mamahood can throw some great things in your path at times, can’t it! 😩😱😂#parenting #sickness #childcare #jointheherd
