This Revere Model 88 is from the 1940's-1950's. Looks like the damn thing still works!

Story time:
Years and years ago (I believe around middle school), I was still very much in my chess-playing period. One day I went to the NY Ren Faire with my family and came across this man set up next to one of the shops. The deal was this; Beat him at a game of chess and win one of the metal figurines on display. Lose and have to buy him a beer. So we sat there for however long, with him puffing on his pipe...surrounded in the resulting cloud of smoke, as he wiped the floor with my poor preteen behind.
This past summer I was pleasantly shocked to discover that he still works there (and has apparantly done so since the second or third year of the faire's existence). Now, I haven't really dedicated any time or practice to chess in years...so it came as little surprise when he wiped the floor with me again. Though to my credit, I did significantly better this time...whittling down his side to only a small handful of pieces. A cool experience, regardless.
Taken on Portra400 120 film...with the second version edited further in the NIK collection in Photoshop (I couldn't decide which I wanted to use more). @newyorkrenaissancefaire

This hovership was a joint effort between myself and my friend Cameron Ake, who modeled the majority of the main hull and structure back in 2013 at my request.
Picking it up more recently, I ended up having to recreate a number of parts due to seemingly corrupted geometry, as well as creating the landing gear, updating some of the topology, modeling a cockpit interior, re-modeling the fans to swivel, uv'ing hundreds of pieces, texturing in Substance Painter, and rigging in Maya.
I'm excited to finally get to use this thing in a proper project.

*This is not a filter.* On a roll of otherwise-normally developed images, this one particular frame displayed a huge increase of contrast and halation. Moisture on the lens maybe? It did start to rain at about that time... Taken in July 2017 on Velvia50 120 film.

And here's a great example of why one probably shouldn't exceed a 4 second exposure for large waterfalls...it blends together into a large white blob.

I took a break from my usual black coffee/regular cappuccino to try a nutella latte. It was actually quite good...didn't taste like an overdose of syrup (*cough* Starbucks). Taken in August 2017 on Ektar 35mm film.

I'm pretty happy with the color rendition, but very much like Portra, the low light areas skew heavily towards green and have to be compensated for (unless you're into that sorta thing).

Welp...looks like the gear issue in my Yashica has gotten worse. It went from somewhat-ruining 1-2 images a roll, to 4-6 in the last few rolls I've done.
Looks like I'll have to stick to 35mm for mobile photography for a bit...
