So 30 days superfasting as per What the Fast and the results are in. Weight -2kg ;
Waist -2cm, waist at belly button -2.7cm, Thigh -0.5cm, Calf -0.7cm and Arm -2.5cm. Great results. Graph shows my body mass definitely fluctuates but overall trend is down. Best thing is I FEEL GREAT! Smashed out my WOD class today and felt awesome after. Had a bio-impedance scan at Vibratrain Hamilton yesterday and body fat % at 27.1% (up since Sept last year as lost some muscle through running training I suspect). Mount Runners Half Marathon next weekend and feeling confident 🏃. Can't wait to help others reach their wellness goals and feel amazing through fitness, nutrition and support! 💕

I seriously impressed myself with how delicious this was! I cooked the pork in the crock pot then put it in air fryer to crisp up.... soooo amazing!!! The cauli rice was so easy too, onion , cauliflower, cumin, tomato sauce, and jalapeño. Garlic and salt. So easy to make your own food!!!!

I made lemon chicken! It was sooo good, tangy and sweet :) also made a deconstructed egg roll which was also delicious, but next time I am going to try to make a paleo plum sauce to go with it, it would have elevated it to spectacular for sure. Sesame Tofu, Quinoa with spring onions & fried shallot & garlic, ginger & mushrooms. Quinoa is highly regarded in the plant based world for its impressive amino acid profile, boasting all nine essential amino acids making it a complete protein. It has twice the protein content compared to rice or barley, and also a very good source of calcium, magnesium and manganese. It also provides useful levels of several B vitamins, vitamin E and dietary fibre. When cooked well it has a beautiful texture but definitely needs some help in the flavour department. It can be cooked in stock, however cooking with water and fluffing up, encorporating a good hit of salt and pepper and fresh herbs always does the trick.

holyyyyy batman 🦇// I tried the #whole30fastandeasy six-ingredient chicken salad for the first time tonight, and it’s seriously mind-blowing. not only because it’s insanely delicious, but also because it’s wicked easy. green beans, chicken, organic grape tomatoes, organic beets, dried basil, and ranch dressing. THAT’S IT. it took maybe ten minutes to throw together and was actually super filling. this one’s going in the favorites folder.

Dinner was 2 hot dogs (these are from @aldiusa & were THE BEST hotdogs I’ve had in a long time!), 1/2 C Skyline Chili, 1/2 C shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I used pre-shredded because I was being lazy) & some hot sauce. Delicious • Filling • 5g carbs 😁

Lemony chicken salad tonight 🍋 Mixed greens, red onion, avocado, asparagus, and cukes. I marinated the chicken in pickle juice, lemon zest, herb de provence and garlic. Baked on a sheet pan with halved lemons at 450 for 12 minutes. Once lemon and chicken are cooled to touch I squeezed the lemon juice and pith onto the chicken tenders. Saw this on an episode on @foodnetwork The Kitchen and thought I’d give it a try the cooked lemon definitely elevates the chicken. I also used some of the cooked lemon in a homemade vinaigrette as well! 💛🥗🍋💚

It’s Taco Tuesday! Yahoo!

This recipe is a big hit with my family. Quick and easy and all in one pot!
.
Easy Taco Bowl
1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 onion, diced
1 can black beans, drained
1 c frozen corn
1 c salsa
2 c beef or chicken broth
1 c brown rice
1 pkg reduced sodium taco seasoning
1 c reduced fat cheddar cheese, shredded
lettuce, tomatoes, low fat sour cream
.
In a large pot brown meat with onion until fully cooked. Add black beans, corn, salsa, broth, rice and taco seasoning. Mix together. Cover. Bring to boil then reduce heat to a simmer until rice is tender and liquid has cooked off. This will take 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat. Top with cheese.

Serve on a bed of lettuce and top with tomatoes and low fat sour cream.

I did a thing today. And it’s called
VEGAN PIZZA BAGELS 😱🤤
I never thought I would be able to create a healthy version of bagel bites but here they are and they’re RIDIC.
Growing up my house was never the house you’d find pizza bagels at but they still remind me of my childhood. I ate pizza bagels at friends houses like it was my job probably up until high school and I still haven’t found anything that compares. So when I used my creativity skills, which I usually try to do in the kitchen, I realized I had @simplemills pizza dough mix, a mini donut pan aka mini bagels, vegan mozzarella and @raoshomemade sauce. ONE AND DONE. 💯
These came out amazing on the first try but I will say they were quite tedious. Instead of making the actual bagel shape, you can just make mini baby pizzas and lay them out on a baking sheet (like cookies), and follow the rest of the instructions on the simple mills box. It’s fool proof 👌🏻 and they’ll still have the same vibe as bagel bites.
After this I’m officially ready for #MDW. You know you need these this weekend which means you need this @simplemills mix. I suggest you @amazon prime that ishhh pronto. 😜🍕 all you need to add to it is water, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar.

Late lunch at 2:30 after running around with the kids doing errands and was SO hungry. Grabbed a taco salad (not whole30 because who knows what’s in the meat/seasoning) with no cheese, add guac and salsa for the dressing. #

MAKING THE CASE FOR EATING A SALAD A DAY

I often get that whiny face when I tell my clients to focus on consuming big salads into their daily meal plan. “All I’m going to be doing is eating salads every day?”
.
Did you know that salads - when building them right - are a nutrient dense powerhouse?
.
It is the foundation of eating real foods and because they are low in starch and fat, it becomes a fat burning staple meal.
.
Salads are essentially vegetables and protein which means that whether you are eating out or making a meal at home, you can find ingredients to meet the criteria and burn that belly fat faster. High in water, fiber and protein ... low in sugar and saturated fat. Win-win.
.
When eating out, you can do the following to stick to your belly fat loss goals:
.
1. Review the salad options on the menu. Eliminate the fatty options like the cheese, bacon bits and dairy based dressings . Request for an oil based dressing on the side and double up on a grilled, baked or poached protein source.
.
2. If you want to order an entree, request for a half (or no) serving of the potatoes/rice and double up on the vegetable portion. Consuming an entree is best for burning fat if you worked out with heavy weights prior to meal time. I also ask for guacamole or avocado on the side to keep me satiated and prevent late night cravings.
.
3. At a fast food spot, have an open faced burger and ask for extra lettuce, cucumber, tomato and whatever other raw vegetables available. Say no to the rice, beans and ask for more portions of protein instead. Don’t be hesitant to make requests. You have goals to reach and you are not about to make bad decisions because of a lack of time or poor energy.
