You guys, I'm a little emotional today looking back at the photo on the left. I started this journey almost a year ago and it's been tranformational on the outside but even on the inside. I see myself back then trying to figure out how to get healthy. How can I fit anything else into my already busy life? I've never really taken time for just me. I married young, had kids young, started my career young. All my days and nights were full. Then all of a sudden I find myself as an empty nester trying to find my place.
I started out low carb but found I was still hungry alot of the time. I finally decided I needed a major overhaul and I figured out how to research keto. I didnt even know what it was a year ago. I read articles online, (ruledme.com) I joined FB groups, I watched Dr. Bergs YouTube videos and slowly started to figure out how to cook and eat the keto way. Low carb, high fat, moderate protein.
Look at me now, a year later and I've lost 35 pounds. I found the confidence to go get glam photos taken, just for me! 😍 (some family and/or friends find that weird) But it really boosted my confidence and it was fun to document my milestone when I turned 50!
Y'all, this ain't been easy. I travel alot for work. There are tons of temptaions everywhere. I must really read the menu, and ingredients then modify what I order, most of the time. Sometimes you get weird looks from the server but keto is becoming more common, so that helps.
I have to give a huge cheers 🍷 to my biggest supporter, my sweet @gmilmac He's kept me on track when I've faltered. He's a leaner, meaner version of himself as well. 💪 (He's HOT! 🔥) We both sleep better, have tons of energy and love this life we share. I'm so happy I made a change. I see a HUGE difference in the photos but also know how different I feel on the inside and that's really the BEST part! 🤩
