So after a crazy holiday. I am back. And ready to focus in the gym and on my clients. Sometimes when training you can get fed up, or even start to hate the gym.. but having a well earned break has given me the #kickupthearse I needed.
So having been giving a firm/inspirational kick up the bum from @strengthdirector about that intention I had in documenting my journey.
Truth is I've been watching everyone else's journey and letting mine kind of pass.
So since starting on 1st May this is where I stand. 45kg PB on Bench Press and 110kg PB (this week go me) and I cannot quite yet squat to save my pizza loving motorhead worshipping life.
Things have learnt about powerlifting as a complete newbie. 1. Throw out every little pre conceived idea you have about powerlifting and people who powerlift. 2. Everyone loves an eighties training montage. 3. Shag the bar 4. Show your logo 5. People are hugely supportive 6. Being out of your comfort zone with the right advice and guidance feels boss 7. Having soft hands isn't a thing any more 8. Being able to say I can deadlift more than I weigh to anyone who is or isn't arsed about hearing it is cool.
So if this remains quiet please tell me off. Part of doing this was to move away from self doubt and part of that is facing the fear of putting myself out there.
Had a shit few weeks so it’s kick-start time!! Been toying with this idea for ages now but after watching #thefastfixdiabetes I am looking forward to this experiment! I will weight in today, again in 7 days, then on the last day (day 14). I’ll post my HONEST thoughts/feelings on each day. On the show they do an 8 week plan- however I am experimenting a 14 day plan, then moving back to #slimmingworld for hopefully a fresh start- and a new start weight!...
It’s mad what a consistent diet and training plan can do to your body’s appearance! Would like to give a massive thanks to @rory_fitness for the diet/training plan for the awesome support over the past few months! Would highly recommend him for anyone who’s looking for a kick up the arse with their diet and training! #dietplan#fitness#kickupthearse#niceboxersbro#looker
The new week started yesterday and I have to say I am so down on myself at the moment. I was doing @aaptiv 5k beginner program but shin splints have got the better of me. This morning I kicked my arse with their boxing program for 40mins of crazy then a chill in the spa. Those people that know me know my coping techniques are appalling and I’m working on them but I’m letting things affect my progress so need the biggest kick up the arse by as many people as possible! #getassinshape#bulletjournal#aaptiv#shiftworker#weighinwednesday#kickupthearse
So in the the last week things have changed. I've been speaking to new #Paying clients. Not feeling as though I've fulfilled my #obligations and #potential. Figuring out how to #EatAnElephant only to remember that I have to #EatItInChunks. I have #BigPlans and I know that I'll execute them well; even around a family that has #CompetingDemands. However I've been #CoMentoring another #SolopreneurAndStartUp and it's really changed a lot. The biggest thing is that I've been #HeldAccountable for not only my actions but my goals and plans. Sometimes you just need a good #KickUpTheArse. However, #Time is a tangible factor. As infinite as time is, it is also limited and those around you will grow up and move on. During my session with my #CoMentee, it was clear that family time is important. Yes developing a new business and ironing out the kinks as you move on, is important but #FamilyTime was essential in nurturing relationships and connecting on a localised level. If you don't have family in the traditional sense, #LearnTheArt of #Connection and #Reconnection. It can only be a positive thing.
A reminder to myself.
Motivation seems to be lacking at the moment, after a 2018 of one injury after another it has become the norm to not put the physical effort in that I used to. Now those results are clearly evident.
Posting this to here means it is out in the open and now there is no excuse but to get my ass in gear.
Extra incentives are always welcome folks. #insta#igers#motivation#help#kickupthearse
As of tomorrow I’m challenging myself to get back on top of my own personal nutrition.
When I wake up I always forget to update my weigh in so I’ve literally put my scales below the board so I write it in.
I’m going to check in every day with my insta story so that everyone will know if I’m slacking.. please shout at me if I don’t check in . Why am I doing this? ..Lately I’ve been really busy and so stressed that the thought of tracking food and trying to prep meals was the last thing on my mind, I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this. Now that I have some more head space and time I feel ready to dominate and get back on track but I need some way of being accountable and I’m hoping this will work for me.. I’ve also already prepared some meals and pre tracked them so I have no reason to fail on the first day.. it happens often.
Of course, there is a goal!
Not a great week soo far at the gym, iv felt soo weak and useless. Im feeling really quite chunky as well. I hate it when i fall into this miserable place with training but i suppose its just how it is when your training #needsomemotivation#kickupthearse#haveaword
Absolutely loving these fage Yog pots at the minute.
I've let things slip need a good luck up the arse and get back to eating healthy. Switzerland in 10ish weeks and 12ish for turkey. No where near where I want to be
After a really full weekend I hit the working week with a bit of bump. Couldn't think of anything I wanted to post which didn't feel 'fake'. Will be using #humpday as a mental #kickupthearse day and will be putting my face on shortly. And maybe even some clothes.
In the meantime, here is a picture of a crocheted cactus. #happyhumpday
