Yes this is me with two weeks of no sleep, slightly delirious, and drinking a beer at lunchtime. It was demo day after all. Even though I look like total crap, what love about this picture, is I’m smiling despite the horrific experience I was living through. There are too many people to thank for making this smile possible. Literally support and helpers from across my lifespan: childhood friends, high school buds that have been through literally thick and thin with me, neighbors, college homies, sports team parents, family members, work colleagues, and absolute strangers from far and wide. Our home was completely demo’d in 4 hours. It was truly a blessing - like ripping the band-aid off quickly. If you look in the back right of this pic, that is a female firefighter that stayed the entire time and never quit. If you look to the back left, those are a fire captains 2 young daughters scraping tar off our foundation. So I’m not only proud to be part of the firefighter family- they have taken such good care of us, I’m also super proud to be a woman! This experience definitely qualifies as one of the worst 5 things that has ever happened in my life, but it also goes to the top of the list and the BEST thing that has happened. I wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks Kendall Berry for capturing the moment!
