I've finally realized a long time dream of mine: creating a product that I love, that I'm proud of, and that I hope you will love too: KICHGO. Has it been a smooth road? “Smooth road?" Ha! That actually made me laugh out loud. No. Not at all. I have made so many mistakes (still make mistakes), have had many embarrassments, and have had tons of failures. But I’m always learning and I don’t give up. I actually don’t agree with a lot of my past career choices but I didn’t know then what I know now and I certainly didn’t have the confidence I do now which I think is built from making mistakes. The only choice for me is moving forward. That’s my bottom line. It’s this or better. Onwards.
Struggles–let’s see. Undervaluing myself and charging way too little. Getting told I’m not the right look for a job. Not buff enough, not skinny enough, not pretty enough, and not tan enough. This happened A LOT. Getting press but having no idea how to monetize it and losing a lot of opportunities. Performing at events where no one showed. Bombing auditions for fitness tv roles. Here’s one of my favorites... One of the biggest producers in Hollywood once told me for a fitness tv audition that “I was the worst he’s ever seen.” I stood there, big-eyed, and then left, walked into the elevator and fell to the floor in complete defeat. The elevator doors opened, I stood back up and just kept going. Funny, I haven’t really told anyone that story. Bad news filter I guess. I really could go on all day. Should I write a book?
