#Hairgrab from the front- slam the palms of your hands down as hard as possible onto attacker’s fist & bring elbows together to protect face. Leave their wrist open. Bend sharply at the waist as low as possible pinning their hand to your head- come back up immediately delivering a groin kick if you are in a tight space.
If you’re in an open space- after slamming hands on top of attacker’s fist, bending sharply at the waist, elbows together, move backwards quickly while #ripping side to side holding onto attacker’s fist tightly. Depending on the #violence of motion, this can either rip tendons or dislocate the wrist.
Why such violence for someone grabbing you by the hair? Because you are not being led somewhere safe by a nice person. If someone is dragging you by the hair they are showing you their intentions and how much they value your safety and comfort. Respond accordingly.
Safety in training is paramount. If you are just watching social media videos and not training under a qualified, experienced instructor you run the risk of injuring a training partner, and yourself. You don’t know what you are doing wrong or ineffectively if you are not overseen by an instructor. Do your research when selecting a school/instructor. Cities usually have a handful of #kravmaga schools. If a school interests you in your area ask a lot of questions, google reviews, ask around about their reputation, check their credentials, visit the school, observe, try a class etc. Try a few to get a better idea of differences and vibes. If something makes you feel weird in any way listen to that feeling and move on. Train hard, stay safe.
