THE NONSEMBLE SALUTES...
GREG PAUL WEBSTER - DRUMS
KATALYST [THE COLLECTIVE]
"Inglewood's [and L.A.'s] Finest"...
are no longer solely the Magic and Worthy / hook-shot era Showtime Dream Team.
We also aren't out to shine our brights on the Protect & Serve contention just now, either.
Today we honor and praise the one and only Greg Paul Webster, Drummer and one of the co-leads of the expansive musical dream team known to and by many as KATALYST [The Collective] - a nine-piece Jazz/Not-Jazz band of brothers that Greg helped found.
While each of The KATS is unquestionably a Nonsemble favorite, it should also be noted that Greg, his eclectic, electric, pocket-tight drumming and his compositions are some of the true hallmark-highlights of the KATALYST sound and their energetic, soulful improv-meets-intellectual-music-theory sonic execution.
We shall perhaps take it all a bit deeper when the site opens.
For Now - Check for this cat and all The KATS coming of KATALYST [THE COLLECTIVE]...
It probably goes without saying - again - that The cool KATS of KATALYST are some of our very favorite young musicians here at Home or anywhere in the world. [and we have eyes and ears open and checking worldwide]. You will likely love them just as much!
Swipe Right - One Won and Two Too are a rewind to the day that Greg came by our NONSEMBLE Jazz Imrpov Jam stage at L.A.'s CENTRAL AVENUE JAZZ FESTIVAL back in July. Greg was so hard on the kick that I had to step in as an alternative Drum Tech [that's me, kneeling to hold the bass drum in place].
Swipe Three On The Tree gets you a roll call for the entire KATALYST Collective... that one is backed with Greg just holding the heartbeat.
You can thank us next time out!
