I remember when I was a child, my dad would stop me from watching certain TV shows with strong female leads because he didn’t want me becoming a feminist.
There would be a kid down our street that would knock at my house to play everyday, I told my mum I didn’t want to and I didn’t like him but she forced me because I was “being mean” and “boys don’t like mean girls”. He ended up trying to sexually assault me and ended up smashing my head against a rock.
My first day in University no-one spoke to me, including the lecturer, because they thought I “wandered in from the beauty department”. No one assumed a girl would take such a “masculine major”. I picked up the subject better than my classmates, who would say things like “you’re only doing well because you’re sleeping with the professor”.
I have 27373773 stories like this, and I’m sure all girls do, but it wasn’t until I moved to Japan I started taking feminism seriously. I know a lot of strong, wonderful women and that really does help. Let’s support each other. #jfashion#coord#oord#milk#bubbles#eatme#larme#larmekei#ラルム#コーデ#pink#japanesefashion
How many places have this kind of “love padlock” thing? I think I saw them in several places (on TV etc). Maybe some couples believe that writing their names together there will—uhm—make their love everlasting, or what. But I think some of them did that simply because they found it cute to participate and see their own names hanging there on the padlocks in a famous monument. Yea, just like how people see a white wall or banner that allows people to sign on them and say something like impressions, supports, etc. Anyway, in some places this act has been treated as vandalism, “and there is some cost to their removal. However, there are authorities who embrace them, and who use them as fundraising projects or tourism attractions.” Lol I’m quoting Wikipedia
We had nothing to do with that padlocks stuff tho. We sat there because we’re tired from walking but then it’s so colorful so let’s take some pics haha. .
