What a glorious season on life I have lived. I have lived out many a dream, travelled many lands, quested for relics, and fallen in love with a princess native to the land of my birth. I have been tested in the most comfortably uncomfortable of ways ;) and my center has been harassed in the most provoking of manners. And I continue to triumph. Upon reaching one peak, the Almighty ☝️continues to test, to break, and to expand his children. “You are stronger, better, deeper, truer than this.” .
We can cower and deny these truths as much as we want for as long as we choose to and yet we find attract from withIn the most enticing calls to action. In my case, the archetypal/prototypical ‘irresistible’ factor in my hetero male existence has been the feminine. Joseph Campbell has probably written on this topic... the maiden in the hero’s journey... and its been awhile since I’ve visited his work. She pushes, pries, excavates, pillages, reaps, sows and heals all in one breath. And we happen to choose the most bewildering ones don’t we? The destructive life giver, the paradoxical divine joke that pushes off our tried and true path where we have no choice but to bushwhack with no map, no navigational tools other than the subtle whispers of our heart in this tangled mangrove of bewilderment. And we kick and scream along the way, clawing quite actually for life itself; for the preservation and pro-generation of the pulse of life in not only our own arteries but also in the womb of the Other. .
Well, we wanted to proclaim with our tattered flag firmly rooted on the homeground of our heart that we are still here. We are still alive. Alive and in reflection - of the artificial, of the authentic, of machine, of man, of relation, of ancestral suffering and cultural genocide - the Ghost Dance - of control and of surrender. 🏳️
Regarding the indigenous people of North America We see victories in community forming around the DAPL threat and Inipi culture permeating the New Age scene. The devastation from
pseudo-anglicization and of systematic and intentional corruption of aboriginal culture is real and didn’t just hurt yesterday - [con’t in comments].
