Choosing our invitations.
I know everyone tells you that weddings are expensive, but my goodness, just HOW expensive is wedding stationary?! It honestly boggled my mind! So we went for a half-DIY option. We bought all the inserts separately and put them all together. We had looked at getting them made and printed but at £3-6 per invitation, that just wasn’t going to happen! I couldn’t justify paying someone 3-6 times what it would cost for me to take a few hours out and stick the bits together. In fairness, I’m not the best at DIY and at the end of it, I can easily say that I would have paid someone to stick them together 😂 The most frustrating part was that we chose a glitter background with a plain card stuck on top, and a glitter belly band. We went through SOOOO many glue options; glue dots, glue pens, prit stick, pva glue, double sided sticky tape, and nothing would stay stuck to the glitter. You name it, we tried it. And I cried with frustration 😂 In the end we went for superglue and it stayed 🙌🏼 We’ve also decided that we are going to print our orders of service for the church ourselves and I have designed them on Publisher. Honestly, I’m pretty impressed with them which surprises me 😂 My sister in law is going to make our welcome signs as she is AMAZING with artsy craftsy bits. We will also be doing the table plan ourselves. Initially we wanted to print it so it was very pretty and neat, but as Tesco says, every penny helps 💰
Is there anyone out there who decided against DIY stationary?
