I do NOT like the cold and usually find anything I can for warmth & comfort this time of year...and that includes food!! This is the perfect cozy breakfast perfect for a snow day (yeah I said it...have you seen the predictions for the Nor Ester coming to the east coast!) or just any day that you need to warm your insides!

Slow Cooker Banana Bread Oatmeal
Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 8 hrs
Total Time 8 hrs 10 mins
Servings 6 servings, about 3/4 cup each
SLOW COOKER BANANA BREAD OATMEAL
Ingredients

3 cups water
4 cups unsweetened almond milk divided use
1 cup dry steel-cut oats
3 large ripe bananas mashed
6 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
¼ cup pure maple syrup
6 Tbsp. chopped raw walnuts

Instructions

Place water, 1 cup almond milk, oats, bananas, flaxseed, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a 3-quart slow cooker; cover. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until oats are soft but chewy.

Top each serving evenly with maple syrup (or agave as a low glycemic substitute) walnuts, and remaining almond milk; serve immediately.

I’ve tried many diets that require counting of some sorts. Super stressful and felt deprived. Starting Beachbody’s container nutrition plan 🥦without the containers. I feel this is super maintainable and Im excited to actually make mindful choices on food groups.

If you know me, you know I eat A LOT of food! I don’t starve myself, I do quite the opposite, I eat when I’m hungry. I try my best to nourish my body with foods that have value & will fuel my body, even though sometimes what I really want is a bag of hot cheeto fries (yikes!) So enjoy a picture of the lunch I threw together before I have to go back to studying. • brown rice/quinoa •black beans (under there somewhere) •sautéed mushrooms, onions & bell peppers (cooked in olive oil & taco seasoning) •salsa •avocado (P.S. this is what a 30 Days to healthy meal can look like, eating REAL foods instead of eating a piece of lettuce for lunch & calling that a meal). #arbonne #lifestylenotdiet

Flexible dieting....it took me a long time to discover this but this is it for me....healthy most of the time but sometimes treats too....cause a girl’s gotta live!! A question I get asked a lot is how I manage eating vegetarian in my house when everyone else eats meat? Am I constantly cooking? Planning is the key.
Last night was cold, and I planned on making a turkey vegetable chili for the family. A couple weeks ago, I made a lentil soup and froze it. So all I needed to do was pop my lentil soup in the microwave while I cooked chili for the family. To top it off, I baked vegetarian corn muffins for everyone. We all had vegetables, protein, a fully belly and I wasn't exhausted. Wins all around!

Growing up I was always an athlete. Super skinny, toned, and ran fast. I played every sport I could and excelled at them. After high school I didn’t make the time for sport anymore so I went from being active everyday for at least 1-3 hours to nothing. College was tough.. I lived at home and still gained way more weight then I should have.
Once I graduated from college I got my dream job and decided to start working out. Going to the gym was my jam for about a year. I lost a bit of weight and felt good. Then I started losing interest and getting bored. I tried different at home programs at home and at the gym over the next few years. Nothing stuck. I didn’t have the motivation or inspiration to do the workouts.
As someone who suffers from anxiety & depression I had plummeted twice between 2014-2016 so I knew I needed to get my shit together. I had a wedding coming up. Found my dream dress. It fit perfectly. Then come August 2017 - my wedding. The dress didn’t fit. We had to add several inches to each side so it would fit. I was devastated.
So in November 2017 I committed to not only bettering myself but also helping other ladies in their health & fitness journey. I lacked the accountability and motivation to workout every day so I was sure I wasn’t the only one. I began working out everyday, eating right, and feeling better overall.
I took a huge step outside of my comfort zone and I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at now. Happier and healthier ❤️

I’m back from vacation! Here is a #nofilter photo of a river and a mountain from my trip, to go with this quick update (more to come soon!) I didn’t gain any weight!! I gained back the pound I’d lost (one of my last posts) putting me at the 30lb total, but I knew that wouldn’t stick. I did not stick to my meal plan basically the entire second week, but I did not go off the rails either! Usually when I’m on vacation, I plan three meals and three snacks plus dessert so I can “get in” all the foods I want to eat and I feel like garbage for the whole time and I gain a bunch of weight. This time, I DID NOT DO THAT and I’m so fucking proud of myself. I ate what@I wanted, but I stayed moderate and I didn’t binge or eat when I wasn’t hungry. I still aimed for healthier options, but enjoyed plenty of ice cream and donuts 😂 I went to CrossFit as much as I could, and I didn’t get down on myself for any of it. I wish I@was further in my weight loss, but this is a marathon, not a spring? And I’m proud of what I’m doing. 💪✌️😎🍦🍩 -

Super excited to have some new products to try. Since having my second baby the last 10 pounds have proven difficult to part with and it's mostly due to my terrible lazy diet. Breakfast in particular has always been something that stresses me out and I've never been able to find something healthy that I like that keeps me full. Since starting the shakes that stress has gone and I look forward to breakfast!. I always make mistakes on our 2B Loser Leadership Board and everyone is always so kind about it—waiting for the following week for me to fix it. But this one couldn’t wait!!! Ever try losing those last 5, 10, 15 pounds? Yeah, they just never seem to come off do they?! But not if you’re following 2B!!! Monica is joining the box of goal weight folks!!!!!! She did it!!!!
