We all do it. Hell I had a midterm today, and you beat believe I had my hand in the bag of choco chips yesterday 🙄
But after finishing that box of cookies, my stomach hurts. I feel like sh*t. And god knows I’m STILL STRESSED! So here are some things I do to prevent it:
1. NOT buying snacks I KNOW I will stress eat but will not satiate me! I used to down boxes of wheat thin crackers while studying for exams, only to feel ill AF after. If I know where my hand is gonna reach, I won’t buy it! -
2. Have GOOD and healthy meals and snacks prepared! Meal prepping healthy foods is KEY 🔑 and even healthy desserts! Making sure you are full/satisfied and feeling good will be make your studying MUCH more effective and will leave you feeling energized instead of weighed down and sick :( -
3. If you REALLY crave something - GET IT! But KNOW when you are actually craving it or just stress eating. If I want a cinnamon bun, I sure as hell get one. But occasionally I will crave a real meal but finding myself leaning towards a cinnamon bun, because it’s easy to eat quickly, and tastes good. But I know I’ll feel shitty after if it’s not really what my body is craving 🙄 distinguish your cravings VS what your stress is telling you!
4. GET OUTSIDE your house. I love to study at coffee shops, where there’s a busy productive atmosphere, I can sip on a coffee and food is the last thought on my mind! -
