We all make mistakes, we are human. We break things, we don't value peoples time, we don't keep our promises, we say the wrong thing, we roll our eyes. We are doing our best, and yet we are bound to mess up. Our ego reacts by finding excuses, and yet the most empowering thing we can do is take responsibility, acknowledge where we were in fault and make amends. Here are 4 steps to get you started:
Step 1: Regret- you have to feel and realize that what you did was wrong
Step 2: Cessation: now that you know the behavior was wrong, stop doing it
Step 3: Admit: Admit that what you did was wrong, say "I am sorry" - this step require humility
Step 4: Resolution: Make amends, and commit to not repeating this action
