This is Loki. In case any of you were wondering why my car mods were put in pause for such a long time, let me tell you a story.
Last September, Loki almost died. He had such a bad systemic infection that he would have died in a few days if we hadn’t gone to the vet. His kidneys and liver were also messed up- but the biggest thing was that he was in a diabetic crisis. Which thing was the beginning of all of it, we’ll never know, but the end result was an emergency vet visit on a weekend, and 3 days in the pet hospital for our baby kitty.
He’s doing fine now. But saving his life cost us thousands of dollars, and for a while we had to watch him like a hawk. He needed insulin twice a day, and we had to switch him (and his two cat-brothers) to an all canned diet. Luckily, he’s healed enough that he doesn’t need insulin any more, but he will live on a 12 hour, canned food diet for the rest of his life to keep him healthy.
With all that going on, there was no room for car mods. It took all of our budget to pay for his vet visits and his medicine, and I still worry about getting home on time to feed him every day.
Luckily, things are getting closer to normal every day. Life is slowly looking up again. Thank goodness for all of that, because I needed it! #diabeticcat #furbaby #kitty #lokithecat #storytime
