Happy World Prematurity Day! Here is Theo just a few weeks after he arrived. He made it to 35weeks so only a few weeks premature. Growth was grinding to a halt at 29 weeks but they managed to keep him going for as long as it was safe... They predicted that he would be 3.5lbs but he was actually 4.5lbs which was a relief to us all! He spend 2 weeks under the care of the most amazing nurses in the special care baby unit who were all just so wonderful. As you can see here, he was a scrawny little mite ❤️ but check out the chubba he became on my previous post...! Little Theo had a few medical problems due to his prematurity - hernia operations and a whole cabinet of medicines due to bad reflux and gastro issues where his systems hadn’t fully developed in the womb. And it was tough. Really tough. But now he’s a happy healthy crazy 2.5yr old! So to all you mummas with premmie babies or just coming out the other end of the premmie world, here’s a massive hug and a pat on the back. You are smashing it. Might not always feel like it. But you are. Here’s to the future! xx
I love listening to podcasts (my guilty pleasure are true crime ones - I even went with my friend Chloe to a live show of My Favourite Murder 🤓). But on the whole I mainly listen to them while I cook or when I’m out on dog walks. Where are you when you listen to podcasts, what are you up to? I love the idea that with Desert Island Dishes I might be going to the park, or on long car journeys with you. But I would love to know!
