Clouds Of Heaven
I shot this late one night while trying to avoid the grizzly bears in Yellow Stone National Park with my friend @justaplanekid on our trip across the country. I've never seen so many stars before as I did that night. Normally when I think to photograph the Milky Way I use a wide angle lens to incorporate as much of the sky as possible. This shot I used the opposite technique and used a longer lens for a closer look. It was a little tricky finding the composition I wanted with the far off mountain range included. I also had to use a much shorter shutter speed than I normally do (which I learned that night) for capturing the stars because being zoomed in closer you can see the movement of the stars even after 10 seconds. So if you look close, you can see the stars just starting to streak.
P.s. All my images are single exposures. Including the self portraits! (:
P.p.s Thanks @universetoday for the Takeover!
