Things haven't been great lately, my back problem is like the Irish Weather... you just don't know what it will be like until your in the moment... I can't plan for anything as I honestly don't know how I'm going to feel on the day... .

BUT

.
Baby is growing, moving, kicking well. I am very lucky to have great support around me so if I am having a bad day, Granny or Grandad or even friends can pick SeΓ‘n up from school for me. Exercising hasn't been great and my food hasn't been great either... some days I'm just tooo exhausted from not sleeping or the pain to put any energy into creating a decent meal!!! .

HOWEVER

As I said, Baby is doing well and we are into our 30th week, so hopefully soon, Baby will be with us in person (& hopefully my back will recover!🀞) Right now I just need to accept where I am at... who knows what tomorrow will bring πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ .

Just back from a 2mile walk around our block, as I call it, 3 hills that near killed me... but it's done πŸ˜ƒπŸ€° now for some relaxing 😴 .

I ordered these headphones from @cozyphonesingapore and am loving them... I can lie down with them on while listening to my @gentlebirthofficial meditations etc. I wore them on my walk and not only did I catch up on my book through @audible my ears and head were kept cozy warm!! #lovethem .

New Doctor, new opinion, new advice... 'when pain hits get up, do a series of Rehab Exercises, have a relaxing cup of chamomile tea, then hopefully go back to bed and SLEEP!!!'

At this stage I'll try ANYTHING!! He reckons too much 'relaxing/taking it easy will stiffen it up more but overdoing movement will aggrevate it so I've to find a 'happy medium'. He is referring me onto a spinal surgeon & hopefully going to get answers but it all may not be until after Baby arrives... we're 30wks now so not too much longer to go 🀰🀞🀞🀞🀰 .

My new 'Happy Place' these days 😊 I decided after much hesitation & procrastination NOT to strip & paint the actual chair... so we recovered the cushions and it looks perfect!! .
.
Last 2 weeks have been 'challenging' after a physio apt I was in bits with my back, it just seemed to have flared up or whatever it is that it does... & left me in agony & completely exhausted. Last Monday I felt s**t & Dr. advised I go down to hospital, Baby was checked out & was fine but Dr. wasn't happy with me so said they would keep me in for observation. .
.
While I was there being bored stiff I realised I had drove myself insane by putting too much pressure on myself by wanting to get so much done, keep active, get organised!! So we have decided to put off any more DIY projects until Springtime, I will keep active but just not as much as I was trying too before and well after a little 'wobble' last week, I got Christmas & Baby organised!! I've really taken things easy this week & plan to continue doing so. The physio discharged me yesterday as she feels I'm not getting any benefit from it & she feels it's only going to get worse with the heavier Bump... Oh well!!

Decided this morning I was doing nothing, or should I say my BODY decided this morning that I was doing NOTHING, so I sat and did lot's of knitting... Baby had a ball moving and kicking away TBH I kinda felt a bit like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens at one point πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ‘½πŸ€£πŸ€£ .

I haven't been to @sprintspinning at all this week, after physio on Mon I was in quite a bit of pain so sleep was disturbed and I have just felt exhausted. For this week I'm going to just go with the flow, if on Sat I feel energetic I'll hit a spin class, if not, that's OK. My rib thingy is definitely improving BUT every so often I get 1 or 2 bad nights and it just messes things up BUT it's better than 7 bad nights so I don't really mind!! For now I've lots of knitting to keep me busy!! .

While at my hosp. apt. yesterday the midwife (who happen's to be a friend) asked how was the 'movements' so I told her that Baby is generally SUPER quiet during the day but when I go to bed it could start kicking etc. She asked am I on the go all day... to which I replied 'well I'm trying to re-decorate the house, organise EVERYTHING and keep active' so her advice was **every 4/5 hrs to stop, sit, lie or bounce on ball for 30/45 mins and just chill, read a pregnancy/baby book, do some meditation or something relaxing** Emma told me it is important to recognise a pattern of movements and by giving myself these 'chill out' moments I'm spurring Baby on to be awake and kick a little more #kickscount @elizabeth_kickscount 😊🀰

I sometimes feel as a 'stay at home Wife/Mum I need to be constantly doing stuff, that I shouldn't sit for an hour or so 'doing nothing' but you know what... I'm taking this time as my 'travelling to work' time and not going to feel 'guilty' (please note the guilt isn't too bad tbh, it's more me in my head telling me I should be up doing stuff!!) I'm going to do some knitting, not Baby related 😊 (will reveal what it is later) and listen to my @gentlebirthofficial affirmations. .

Spinning this morning @sprintspinning I had seriously thought about giving it a miss but after getting a good nights sleep I said 'feck it I'll go'... and I'm glad I did πŸ˜€πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ˜€ .

I've almost finished our bedroom and I love it... it may seem very plain & simple but that's what I wanted. I want to be able to change the bedlinen, add some matching cushions & maybe some flowers, when I feel like it. We still need bedside lamps, floor mat & maybe a few photos... .

The print of 2 intertwined wedding bands above our bed was a wedding gift from my sis-in-law Alison (& my bro) @grafficjamstudio Alison sketched it herself using charcoal (I think??) then had her Dad @carrollcraftframes frame it. We've given smaller ones to Friend's for their weddings too... I love it πŸ˜€ .

Body shaming/Body acceptance

This subject bugs me. People say you should be happy with your body, you should disregard the weight on the scales, size on a label. Be happy, love your body, love your size!! .
BUT being OBESE or MORBIDLY OBESE is NOT GOOD FOR YOU, YOUR BODY OR YOUR MIND!! .
I'm not saying we should all thrive to be a size 6,8,10 but we should thrive to be a 'healthy body weight/size'. It isn't an easy journey, I know people have different issues to overcome, believe me I have gone through a lot of them but if there is one thing I have learnt is that being morbidly obese or a plus size girl prevents you from living the life you dreamed of.

I dreamed of having at least 3 children (Shane wanted 5!!) because of my unhealthy lifestyle which resulted in me being MORBIDLY OBESE & INFERTILE. I PREVENTED US from fulfilling our dreams. I have a million reasons why I ignored Dr's advice to loose weight but the fact of the matter was I WAS AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP. I needed the help & guidance of someone to help me turn my unhealthy lifestyle into a healthy one. Dr's had told me to join slimming clubs, gyms or 'just walk' but each time I tried I became so overwhelmed with all the misguided information out there, I would fall off track. I only succeeded when I had someone I had to be accountable too day in day out. .
Although I know I'm not 'cured' I do know what my triggers are, I know how to make healthy choices and I know that making healthier choices make ME HEALTHIER. MIND, BODY & SPIRIT!!!

So PLEASE STOP ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO ACCEPT & EMBRACE THEIR OBESE/MORBIDLY OBESE BODIES Yes they are beautiful people but ENCOURAGE THEM TO GET PROPER HELP... my help came as a PERSONAL TRAINER
.
Since starting my own journey I have wanted to help others like me, I just didn't feel I was 'qualified' to help anyone but that WANT is so strong in me that I feel I need to pursue it... I just don't know how... yet πŸ€” .

Lists keep me sane!! Honestly if I have a list of things to do, I'm happy, productive and don't get overwhelmed!! IT KEEPS ME SANE!!

A while back I sat in each room in my home and made a list of what needs to be done. It has taken a while to get the energy to start on the list BUT I knew it was done and that when I was feeling good, it was all ready to go. I have about 6 jobs left to do upstairs then that's that part of the house done & dusted!! A few people have called it 'nesting' but with still 3 months to go... I think it's just getting fed up with unfinished rooms!!! .

I've also made a list of all the things (which really isn't much) that we'll need for Baby, it's funny how this time round the list is a lot shorter than on SeΓ‘n, really Baby needs very little and I don't want to waste money on things that aren't needed (eg. nappy bin πŸ€”πŸ€”)

Lot's of little DIY jobs done today, I was like a woman on a mission with my screw driver πŸ‘©β€πŸ”§πŸ˜€πŸ€° but this one I'm most happy with. I've wanted to hang up my running medals since I got my first one!! This morning I woke thinking 'I want rice crispies'... πŸ™ˆ .
.
Wednesday evening I noticed the Baby wasn't moving as much as usual, still moving but not like before. I slept ok & still very little 'morning kicks' but because there was still some movement I went about my day. I did my 2nd spin class this week & afterwards had a bottle of orange to see if I could get Baby kicking, still only little flutters. Took myself home & lay down, ate lunch, bounced on ball, lay down somemore (usually when I lie down Baby kicks like mad) but still only little flutters. Rang the Dr & then rang a friend who is a midwife, she advised to go get checked in hospital. .
.
At this stage I had myself worried sick but because I could feel flutters I thought I would be totally wasting the hospital's time & space etc. I thought they would think I was just being over anxious & wasting their time. But I rang them & they said to come down that they take decreased movements very seriously especially considering all I had done to get Baby kicking.
.
.
I went down & all was GREAT, they explained how important it is to 'get checked' & not to sit at home worrying. Both midwife & Dr. did all their checks & made me feel comfortable & not foolish or a time waster in anyway... if in doubt get checked out!! .
.
These last 6mths have been so friggin emotional it's unreal but we're heading into the 3rd trimester soon & I am hoping to chill & enjoy it. I have had 3 nights PAIN FREE now & am seriously hoping it continues πŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

About 2yrs ago I read this book & it was honestly the best book to help me get my 'shit' together... I totally decluttered my house (attics & all). I have tried to keep on top of certain areas but I feel now is a good time to 're-do Konmari' I honestly found that once I had 'Konmari'd' my home, I was a lot more organised, productive and happier in my home (& in my head if truth be told 😁)

So because we are stuck at home, (Hubby's jeep broke again πŸ˜₯) and I'm feeling quite good after spinning (slightly sore from physio but no muscle pain, Thanks Tom) Myself & SeΓ‘n are going to tackle a few areas 🏠 😁 then get ready to go Tricknor Treating πŸ‘»πŸ‘ΏπŸŽƒπŸŽ† .

I've absolutely no excuse NOT to eat healthily... I LOVE healthy/nutritious food... I remember at the start of my journey with @sprintspinning one of the instructors said to always have a jar of beetroot & gherkins in the fridge, some sort of healthy bread in the freezer (even if it's only a few slices or 1 pitta bread) then add cheese or a slice of meat & any other fresh salad πŸ…πŸ₯‘πŸ₯’πŸŒΆ you may have and there you have a perfectly decent lunch 😊😊 Back to black coffee too... β˜• .

Breakfast - I like making my porridge on ricemilk & water, it doesn't end up as creamy as it would if made on dairy milk but I find it less fattening (& I as a PCOS sufferer should limit dairy) I do tend to stick with the same toppings just to make life easier & because I love them!! My milled seed mix comprises of chia, hemp & linseed 😊 .

1st day of mid-term and SeΓ‘n's 1st job is to clean, tidy & polish his room... he has done it without any major complaint πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— .

I had my back massage yesterday which I sooo needed as my back was in a heap (prob after the long drive to & from Galway πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ) and today is physio... praying for a miracle (or even just some relief πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™) .

Today I (kinda) learned how to play minecraft while we both enjoyed a 'healthy snack'... .

On Thursday I had an antenatal check with my GP, all was well with Baby, he answered a few questions we had about our recent scan & spoke to me a lot about my rib thingy... Then he weighed me... πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ He feels I've put on a bit too much weight... needless to say I was super upset. It's what I feared would happen since the day I found out we are pregnant. He told me not to stress but just go back to the way I ate when I was loosing weight... he told me as long as I was eating all food groups, snacking on fruit/veg & eating smaller portions I should be OK...

As much as I would love to be spinning, walking, swimming etc regularly, some days the pain is too much or I'm just too tired from not sleeping BUT I do try and that's all I can do. I am NOT making excuses about the exercising it's out of my control BUT I do take full responsibility for my food choices over the last few months, although a lot could be put down to 'emotional eating' (which is my greatest downfall) I still need to take control for the next 3 mths... I don't want to have to loose all the weight I already lost AGAIN!!! So here it goes, starting today... STRICT STRICT STRICT!! .

We love watching @britishbakeoff and then (occassionally) trying our hands at some of the bakes... as much as we all wanted to try the Seven-Veils cake I kinda thought 1. It was wayyyyy tooo difficult & 2. Wayyy tooo delicious looking (aka high calories etc!!) So we decided on some French Pastries πŸ‡«πŸ‡· AND as much as we would have liked to make a whole range of them... I thought 1 each would be plenty!! .
.
So we bought the short crust pastry (I know, I know!!) Made the creme-patt, cut the berries & whipped the cream... we added a splash of passionfruit coulis to them and they were quite delicious πŸ₯πŸ₯–πŸ₯¨ quite easy to make to be fair & SeΓ‘n loved decorating them πŸ˜€ .
