Ons lichaam heeft de hele dag energie nodig. Die gebruiken we niet alleen om te bewegen, maar ook om basistaken uit te voeren zoals het reguleren van de lichaamstemperatuur, het kloppen van je hart en de aanmaak van nieuwe lichaamscellen. De ‘brandstof’ voor al dit soort lichamelijke processen is voedsel.

Voor het berekenen van de energie die je binnenkrijgt uit eten, gebruiken we calorieën (kcal). Hoeveel calorieën je lichaam per dag nodig heeft, is voor iedereen anders. Het is afhankelijk van verschillende factoren, zoals je geslacht, lengte, gewicht, leeftijd, hoe actief je bent op een dag en het aantal keer per week dat je sport. Een eenvoudige manier om je energiebehoefte te bepalen is door die te schatten met behulp van een formule. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de Harris en Benedict-formule.

Somehow I have only just realised that I check my hands after EVERY deadlift I do. Why do I do it? What am I looking for? A stronger deadlift maybe. Will I ever find it? Who knows.

Love my Macro tracking 📲📲📲
I'd seen loads about macros around insta and through the crossfit community in the past, but really knew nothing about how to set my macros or what exactly I was trying to track.
Now days though I'll happily refer to myself as a #macrogangsta 😎🤣
That doesn't mean I always get my macro balance perfect - I definitely don't (in fact this photo is today's low macro and my carb balance is way off!!), but focusing on balancing my carbs, fats and proteins has made such a huge, positive different to my diet! 😍

Back & Shoulders...my fave 😁 seeing improvements in strength massively in both areas which is so motivating 💪 Was hoping to do the 4 weights session this week, but it wasnt meant to be, work stressors just got on top of me and I needed a rest day yesterday. Next week thats the goal! Topped it off with a steak dinner from #hellofreshau. Damn im a good cook, when everything is perfectly planned out and organised for me 😂 Hope everyone has had a fantastic Friday .

One thing I hear often, mostly from construction workers who are on the go and eating on the road...
'sure I don't know what else to get' or
'all the boys get breakfast rolls so I just get one too'.
Petrol stations and supermarkets have so many healthy options in their deli counters at the moment.
There's no excuse! 🙂

Don't put yourself on a diet where you are hungry. You will not reach your goal. If you want to lose weight/fat eat the right stuff and know/weigh what you eat. Count your macro's and stick to it. Once you hit a plateau adjust them where necessary. Stay dedicated and be patient.

These are 2 meals out of the 4 i'll eat today. I lost about 12 kgs over the last 3 months and i have put on a decent amount of muscles over this period also.

Everything is possible if you believe in yourself.

Free Friday treat of a fancy coffee (I’d filled up my loyalty card 👍🏻) and these are the things to report:
1) Loving the @mcdonaldsuk Christmas cups. Super cute.
2) It’s like a whole flipping pudding in a cup. Chocolate cream, caramel sauce, the lot.
3) This regular cup contains almost 25g of sugar and 200cal, which I sadly only found out after I had drunk it...
4) It was bloody delicious 😋 •
