One of the main things I hope to show you is that eating healthy does NOT have to be boring! It does not have to be restrictive. You don’t have to follow the latest fad diet or go gluten free just because everyone else is! You don’t have to eliminate food groups! You truly can eat foods that you love and enjoy and still reach your goals! Crazy, right?! I am 5 weeks into competition prep and this is what my day looked like! It was all delicious!😋

Sorry I don't take food pics like @thatswhatsheeats 🤷🏼‍♀️ No clue if y'all care about what I eat sometimes, but here ya go.
I've been eating a lot of the same for lunches - chicken and rice or pasta annnnd I'm SICK of it lol
I decided to switch things up and make some chicken cordon bleu roll ups - and I'm too excited to eat them tomorrow.
Made with reduced fat crescent rolls, thinly sliced lean ham, thinly sliced chicken breast, and Swiss cheese. Simple!
I wouldn't usually/normally make meal prep for the week using something like crescent rolls, but food doesn't have to be boring! I'll also be incorporating tons of greens and fruits throughout the day.
Everyone has their own idea of how to eat, do what works for you and helps keep you on track.
This is also the beauty of IIFYM - this is what works for me. "Treats" like this as meals for the day/week keeps me from eating out because I don't want any more chicken and rice or from bingeing... that's what really counts.

If i haven’t learned anything through out my journey, I’ve learned that God and self love is all it takes. I’ve grown so much. These are two different people, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Why do people gain weight ?? It's from consuming too many calories 🤷‍♀️🤦

Truth is that if weight loss is a goal, you need to start being honest with yourself with how much you are eating. Learning what a proper portion size is can impact your consumption of food but also help you lose weight or maintain/ build muscle on your body. .
Even after tracking macros for 3+ years consistently, eyeballing portions can still put me over or under on my intake for the day. Miscalculating 4 oz of chicken which might be 6 oz add a few extra hundred calories a day. Multiply that by a week and you are no longer in a deficit for weight loss.

Protein is the least of your miscalculated worries. Fats are the bigger offenders because they tastes SO good but are so calorie dense. Measuring your fats is crucial to hit your target number goals! .
Don't guess, just start taking the extra 5 seconds to measure your food with a food scale. I got mine off Amazon and it was cheap. Your food labels have a measurement on them. Utilize it to measure a proper portion. If it doesn't have a food label, look it up on Google and cross reference it with MyFitnessPals entries. Make sure you are weighing and not just choosing a med apple. If your are consistent and precise, your results will happen faster 👌👌

Some of this weeks prep: snacks will be home made trail mix and fruit ✔️meals from the top-Turkey, chorizo, tomato, sweet potato and normal potato breakfast hash ✔️mixed salad with all sorts of veggies, toasted sesame oil, seeds and cashews, topped with chicken breast and home made ham ✔️slow cooker Moroccan lamb stew with potato’s (the baby also got this for lunches this week) ✔️some more salads with home made ham, chicken breast, home made mayo, walnuts and seeds.... Why do we foam role? Is it important?

Under our skin we have a layer of wrapping holding everything together, this is called fascia. When our fascia gets tight everything squishes together, think of it like glad wrap around a sandwich. What happens when the glad wrap is too tight? It squishes the sandwich into a ball and it can’t move. This causes bad mobility in the body, foam rolling will loosen the fascia giving you a greater range of motion.

Foam rolling is definitely important. It gives a greater range of motion allowing for us to activate more muscle fibres which in turn allows more muscle growth and calories burnt. Rolling also assists with muscle recovery and also is used to get small knots out....

When it hurts is when it really matters. I keep going when my body wants to give up. It’s all mental. When my body says stop. My mind says “fuck you we keep going”. Put yourself in that beast mode mentality. We go to the gym to see results. Push yourself. We’re capable of much more then we believe. Watch a motivational video, get yourself angry and use that anger as fuel. We don’t stop when our mind says we’re done, we stop when we physically can’t go on. Fuck excuses and half ass effort. Take control of your mind and you will start to see great things unfold.

🦄Growing up I was an awful student. I mean, like, really bad. Not rude or overly disruptive (except one time I started doing a strip tease in Ms. Notaro's English class but, to be fair, it was Halloween and really funny). But, mostly, I just didn't do well sitting in a classroom memorizing stuff.

☕️So to get through without flunking, I made these "cheat sheets" to help me condense the most important parts of a topic into a simple, easy to read picture. They weren't *everything* I needed to know. But they gave me a strong enough base to feel confident digging deeper and learning more on my own.

🦄That's why I make so many "cheat sheets” on IG. Because many have told me they're saving and using these daily for fat loss and muscle gain and strength and yada yada yada.

☕️Anyway, what we have here is your Macro Cheat Sheet. It covers the essentials of the 3 macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats) in addition to a few extra "fun facts" alongside alcohol (which is, technically, the 4th macronutrient, sitting at 7 cals/gram).

🦄Worth nothing, you'll see I included "daily needs" as a section in each post. First, LBM stands for "lean body mass." That's just how much muscle you have in your body, rather than going by your total body weight (which includes much more than just muscle, like fat and bone and water poop and stuff). And, second, please do NOT let the numbers overwhelm you. My standard recommendation still applies --> hit your calories, hit your protein, and the rest will fall into place. Really, I mean it. As long as your calories and protein are in check, you're good to go.

💥 leg lifts 3x25
💥 back extensions 3x15
💥 (using back extensions machine) side crunches 3x15
💥 Swiss ball crunches 3x20

Cardio: 💥 2 min 3.5 walk then 2 min 7.0 sprint. Do this for 30 min back to back! Then I added 10 min of walking 3.5 with 13.5 incline at the end because I’ve had a lot of cake the past two days 😂🎂 .

Here’s a short video of one of the workouts I did yesterday. On top of triceps, I also benched, did some shoulder work on cables, and stretched A LOT. I can tell I’m getting stronger and I’m getting more muscle definition. I thought my tris looked pretty good😊 Progress over perfection people!! No one should expect you to be perfect, and if they do, then they are invalid. And you can’t expect yourself to be perfect either. I was pretty cut before I came to college, but because of the lack of lifting and poor food choices, my body has looked a bit different. But that’s okay! Cause you know what? It doesn’t have to stay that way! I’ve been trying to stick to my macros and get in good workouts that will help me get where I need to be. Don’t give up.. trust the process. I hope everyone’s having a blessed Sunday! Finals are coming up, so my social media presence will be non existent till I’m out of school. I’ll be back soon ✌🏼
