On a Friday afternoon 4 years and 8 months ago I rescued her from a horrible house... A few hours later the vet told me she wouldn't live through the weekend... I sat on the floor with her in my lap and @sarcastic.raven next to me and I cried. I barely knew her but she was already 100% my dog.... She will be 5 tomorrow and I can't imagine my days without her... Happy birthday to my baby girl 🎈
Our little mags is still unwell and 100% better yet. But it doesn't stop her though... and she's learnt how to play #hideandseek from copying her brothers and sisters. This is her best try today... Can you find her 🤣🤣🤣 . She's a pro already. X .
**progress** Maggie is still under the weather but she still pushes herself daily. Today daddy finally got a good picture of her standing with me. She always falls at the time of the picture but this was timed perfect. She's using all her tone to push into this position so it must be so hard for her but she's so determined. She's my inspiration daily.
Throw back photo to when Maggie was only 6 months old. My little baby had only been out the #nicu a few weeks. It was such a hard life for her she fell asleep in the bath!! 🤣 Always one of my favourite pictures. X .
Maggie's #squigglesstander by @leckeydotcom finally altered by the PT so mags can spend more time standing and hopefully it will help her hips. Her doctor has already said she need surgery on them but we will try anything first to help her. She also loves being the same height as the other kids. Recommend this stander with tray to anyone! She even had her breakfast in it. X .
Just want to let you into our daily. This is Maggie napping yesterday...this is the reality of cerebral palsy in one picture. Splints on and her sleep system pillow between her legs to stop them locking, keep space between and to generally help her positioning. There's no way we can use this at night as we have to 're position her to often and the pillows so cold and plastic coated and she wakes up and tries to play with it 🤦♀️. She has so much to deal with that when I read on someone's page today "i have cp, cp doesn't have me" I decided this is how I'm gonna make sure Maggie feels growing up!!! .
*progress* All Maggie says is "stand" 24/7. She wants to be standing however it is. Today was a new one between my legs 😍 she's so weak still though and loses strength so quickly. We've been told it's fluctuating tone. Makes sense but doesn't help poor mags. Her core tone is getting better but still unable to sit unaided. She cannot stand without her splints or unaided at all as her feet fully fold inwards now and she just folds I'm half 😢 She pushes herself so much and she's always so proud of herself.
Someone had another good physio session today. Although Maggie was over tired as she decided to get up at 5am 😴 she was loving the ballpit and it was amazing to see her using hand to hand with objects. My jacket was propped behind up to hold her in the seated position but she was using her hands to balance too. Also thanks so much to everyone thats taken the time to read our story and if you can put even £1 into maggies fund we would be eternally gratefull.
If we can keep Sharing to reach as many people as possiable please 🙏💚 https://www.gofundme.com/maggies-story
The little princess is fast asleep finally. Unfortunately for Maggie sleeping isn't rest for her. As she can't move herself she will wake up in pain/ uncomfortable and need to be moved, swapped sides. This happens on average 8/10 times a night. I Can't even imagine how it feels to not be able to move into a different position by myself. It must be so hard for her but she's so strong, so much stronger than me. The love i have for her is nothing words can describe. Night xx
I caught her pulling out the eye lashes!!! 👁👁 Maggie's new best friend is this dolly.... She's trying to feed it here, after smashing it over the head 10 times with her bottle she got close in the end to her mouth so it's good hand eye coordination. She's also learned a new word and says "bubby" when she wants it. It's so so cute. She looks very naughty in this picture though. Have a good weekend x
This happened today!!!! Maggie was able to stand for 10 seconds with holding just 1 of my hands. Doesn't seem long but I usually have to hold her under both arms and she's always been against a wall when I've tried before. Think her afos and shoes were helping too but I'm so pleased for her none the less. Massive Progress for us. .. She's definitely a limited edition! 😍 .
Home physio session with my excersie ball! Hard to get alot done with her when all she wants to do is play 🤣 Her core tone is still fluctuating and were finding Maggie gets tired very easily. Have a big paediatric meeting coming up so going to ask about a body lycra as I've been told can help alot with tone. Any tips please recommend. Xx X
Mummy's little helper. Mags is loving helping me with my puzzle. The most simple things make her so happy. Although half of it is now on the floor as she thought it was funnier to throw it 😌 this is so good for her physiotherapy, picking pieces up with finger and thumb is amazing practice. X
