"Guns don't kill, people do" - I don't get it, is this a justification for all the school shootings? Should parents who lost their children and siblings who lost the other siblings, close their eyes at night thinking that hey, not guns are the problem, people are, and get a good night sleep? When did possessing a gun became more important than a child's life? When did a usual day at school became a constant fear that maybe someone could get in every moment now and destroy some lives in a couple of seconds? After all that happened, how can a parent drop his child at school in the morning? How can a parent live with the fear of the probability of not having a child to pick up in the afternoon?
I don't have kids, I can't even imagine. But I have brothers for whom I would do almost anything. Reading the conversation between two brothers trapped in the same highschool in the moment of the shooting, was heartbreaking.
We should know better, people. We should know better.
