Somehow in the chaos that is my life I managed to miss this incredibly awesome article written by @o_corcoran for @mrxstitch! I want to thank them abundantly for always being a dedicated platform for artists and stitchers all over. Hearing kind words about your work from people you admire does a number for one's confidence (especially on a morning when you want to rip your fabric to pieces and cut all your threads into smithereens!) Thank you @o_corcoran, this found me at the perfect time. You are an stitching goddess!
Hello Tuesday! Here is a little sneak peek of the new holiday inventory! I call this one the Blizzard beanie Expect a shop update early morning November 10th so mark your calendars! Beanies have been in high demand (also bootcuffs!) So I have been working my hardest to build up my collection with those and more!
Day 4 of the blacksmith master class at @eveleighworks was the culmination of the previous 3days of tool making to make a rounding hammer. First we punched an eye in a length of 4140 steel. We forged out the cheeks of the hammer and then isolated mass for the dies of the hammer by isolating with top and bottom fullers. We rounded one face with the cupping tool and kept the other side flat. Then a final drift before normalising and annealing the steel. I monogrammed mine here while the steel was at its softest, We then ground the faces to their final shape and began heat treating and tempering.
