I've always loved the transformation that takes place when I sit in front of a mirror with my brushes and cosmetics around me, and I love seeing others transform themselves as well. The beauty world allows me to show who I am inside to the rest of the world.
And yet, cosmetics themselves are so controversial. There's natural-faced women who bash make-up wearing women. And men who bash them, as well. Then you have men and women who bash the men that wear cosmetics.
Of all the issues in the world to be divided about, cosmetics should not be one of them. It's an art form, a media for an individual to express themselves physically, and everyone has the choice to participate or not.
The beauty community can be a wonderful place. I have witnessed women help other women, women help men, and men help women. Straight, gay, black, white, tall, short, blond, brunette... none of that matters. We are all kings and queens in our domain; we need to fix each other's crowns when they're crooked, not tear them from someones head to feel superior.
