It took me sooo long to really master the art of meditation, and I’ve found the answer - I am forever a student, getting better each day.
It’s no secret how much I value my morning routine, I know it’s what sets me up each day to be the best business owner/mum/everything else I need to be.
Meditation is such a big part of that! It helps me to become more peaceful and focused, less worried, and more appreciative and attentive. #attitudeofappreciation
Some things that have worked for me:
🧘🏼♀️ start with just 5 minutes! You can increase gradually in a week or so until you reach 15 - 20 minutes, as you’re ready.
🧘🏼♀️ make it one of the frst thing you do in the morning. Really love yourself enough to be purposeful in setting your day up with mindfulness.
🧘🏼♀️ get yourself comfortable (out of your bed - it doesn’t work ♀️) I find it easiest to sit comfortably on a cushion against the wall
🧘🏼♀️ close your eyes and focus your attention on your breath, bringing it gently back to your focus as your mind wanders (and it will!)
🧘🏼♀️ I have found it helpful to count my breath in and out, you might like to listen to dripping water or some white noise, or even a guided meditation if that’s more your jam - YouTube has thousands.
🧘🏼♀️ be kind to yourself - it’s a practice, you’re not doing it wrong! Push through the initial resistance and watch how much of an impact this simple practice has on your life.
🧘🏼♀️ BONUS 🧘🏼♀️ - journal afterwards! Let whatever wants to, come out. It may surprise you what clarity you feel on something that was troubling you, just from meditation followed by journaling. If possible, go old school with There is also a great app jrnl.com if you’re more digital
