School holidays are over (cue happy dance)! For me, I find this means I have to be more organised than ever because it’s back to all those extra activities that we have to fit into our busy weeks, like swimming lessons, and after school/weekend sports.
So, it’s back to planning and prepping not just meals but also snacks (breakfast and dinner not shown). Don’t get me wrong, it's not a perfect system and there are certainly weeks where I don't plan in advance for one reason or another. But for me, those weeks where I'm not organised are the weeks I don't reach my recommended 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit daily, and my intake of discretionary foods is much more than it should be. So, that’s why I make time to meal prep, that’s my motivation...to make sure I'm getting my fruit and veg in place of those discretionary foods.
