BENCH VARIATION: slow on the way down, pop up 1/4 of the way and hold, back to the bottom, and press back up to the top—that’s one rep. We did 4 sets of ten with that variation, supersetting the the converse of that—1/4 down from the top, hold, back up and then a full rep. 8 sets of 10 altogether. Holy 🔥🔥. This targets and strengthens the pecs super well, increases time under tension and provides a fantastic pump. Very challenging, as I have 10 lbs on each side as opposed to my usual plates. Picked this up from @ellanewphysiquelook Who is the absolute embodiment of my goals. This is a prime example of sacrificing ego in order to grow—and that is something I need to prioritize in my daily lifts for sure.
The hottie in the second video, @kasey_greenfield is incorporating extra squeeze into a familiar exercise by using two weights. Having to hold two flat objects together is a major game changer.
Update-lost over two pounds since I got back from TG which puts me at 105, two pound higher than when I left. And I must say, I dig looking a little bigger. With temptation gone and routine back, I’m right where I want to be. If you’re not quite “recovered” from the holiday, don’t stress! Use the extra fuel to smash the gym and exercise your discipline.
