Injuries. We all get them at some point in our life. Some are worse than others and some take longer to heal than others. It's easy to focus on the negative aspects of an injury, especially those who lift weights on a regular basis.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had a wrist injury and it's something that I have been dealing with off and on for sometime now. Form is key, especially if you're lifting heavy but let's be honest, unfortunately we cannot fully prevent injuries. I took a break for the rest of the week and let my wrist heal. I've been doing a lot of stretching during this rest period. At first I was bummed and I was feeling upset at myself and thinking if I just had been a little more careful then this would not have happened.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The thing is, things happen and we have to learn to adapt to compensate for things that might be more sensitive to us. I snapped out of my negative mindset real quick because I realize that I have so many things to be thankful for and it could've been a lot worse. We all struggle with things and sometimes I'm very hard on myself and as they say, we are our own worst critic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you find yourself feeling down for whatever situation, try and think about the things that you CAN be thankful for. 🙏 TOMORROW IS NEW DAY!

Motivation: Motivation is different for everybody. One thing that works for someone isn't necessarily going to work for everyone. It's easy for someone to tell you how you should do things in order to stay motivated but that doesn't mean it's going to be the right motivator for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can tell you is this:👇
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ask yourself why you are doing what you're doing or why you're trying to get motivated to do that specific task. Is it to lose weight? Are you motivated by being healthy and reducing the risk of disease and sickness? Maybe you want to have a better quality of life. Maybe you want to be fit in time for a certain deadline or function. You might even just be tired of not feeling your best and not being your best. Maybe you want more energy for your children and your family so that you could do more with them. 👇
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bottom line is that we each need to find our own individual motivator and then move towards that goal and make steps to change. Keep your focus on that motivator and push through! 💯💪

2017-2018 Has been some of the roughest and toughest years not only for me but for my family and loved ones. I am grateful to have the support of my loved ones to make me as strong as I am mentally and physically!

Summer 2017 - My parents splitting up after 30 years.

November 2017 - Rear ended in my car which caused my hips and back to go out of alignment.

April 2018 - 5 seizures during one night while I was in preparation of a bodybuilding competition.. Due to seizure medication changes.

July 2018 - Tore my left quadricep during a routine workout while in preparation for a powerlifting meet. Due to lingering side effects from medication changes and dehydration.

#throwbackthursday 3 years ago today where I competed in @npcnewsonlineofficialpage Texas Cup in Houston, Texas against over 20 monsters and held my own thanks to @aaronsbetterbody!

As you can see with the smile on my face I was thrilled to be there holding my trophy 🏆 with these gentlemen! But never satisfied!!

I weight a lean 165lbs back then and today I weighed myself during my Recovery/Bulk.. I weighed 237lbs!

Setup with INTENT! Everything you do in your setup should have the purpose of making your actual squat more efficient. The better your setup, and the less energy you spend getting the bar out of the rack, the more energy you'll have for the actual squat. I want one thing to be clear: NO ONE should force you to keep relationships that feel toxic to YOU! By ending these relationships you are not purposely trying to hurt anyone's feelings, in fact you were trying to prevent hurt.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💯I'm not trying to be like anyone else but me. Growing up, it definitely took me some years to figure out who "me" was. I knew I wasn't one of those "skinny" girls, I've always carried a little more fat. It was bodybuilding that changed my life and helped me to utilize my body type for some great gains in the gym. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don't have it all figured out, don't be hard on yourself. We are all learning something new! 💜💗💜

Have you ever thought about why you don't have energy to work out or why certain foods make you feel a certain way? Start to pay attention to your body and how your body reacts when you eat certain foods.

I eat #fighterdiet style and it has literally been a lifesaver for me. I have a huge appetite and I found that eating small mini meals did not work for me and left me more hungry throughout the day and actually caused me to eat more. Don't buy into the bro science that says that you have to have six mini meals a day. This is simply not true. If you like to eat that way then that's great but if you have trouble eating that way then it's not for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
