A lioness carries one of her cubs in her mouth while the other swims behind. Your Shot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee) writes, “I love this moment that you captured. I love the tiny cub in the background, swimming to keep up — such a wonderful surprise to your photo. Great seeing.” This photo was selected for April 24, 2018 Daily Dozen.

The World at Night project
Swipe left for the complete view of the full moon setting at sunrise with strong anticrepescular rays (atmospheric phenomenon) and hundreds of seabirds flying from their nesting place in the islands near Rio de Janeiro to inland and the city's seashore. Some of these huge frigatebirds have 2 meters wingspan.

Murphy, 2017

In the interest of full disclosure, I do not have a dog.

A dear friend of mine challenged me recently.
How can you be doing this #yearfthedogs project when you don’t even have a dog ?

My retort is simple, I’ve photographed many animals such as Bears, Elephants, Tigers, Lions, Sheep and Pigs. Incredibly some of them were even kept as pets, yet I don’t have any of those either.

Maybe too much time away on assignments for National Geographic, maybe I never got over the death of my childhood dog or I’ve lived in too many weird apartment buildings, whatever the reason,
I am dogless.
Yet dogs are no strangers at our home. Our front porch famously graced the cover of a coffee-table book about porch dogs, complete with a photograph of a dog on our porch that did not live here.

I can say without hesitation, that if I did have a dog, I would be lucky to have one as cool as Murphy. A family dog who’s good with his paws and has just enough scruff to be considered authentic. He’s a venerable first-generation Labradoodle closing in on 14. A loyal and friendly sort with a firm pawshake, he needs no help opening or closing the front door of his home.

He’s welcome on our porch anytime.

There is something about each of these dogs that I admire and I enjoy sharing them with you.
Thank you all for your kind comments, messages and emails. I read them all and try to respond to each as best I can if you follow @vincentjmusi

Any gnomes down there? “This spot has always been a favorite of mine,” says drone photographer Bo Le (@safromabove). “It looks like a magic garden out of a fairy tale.” #WHP🌲

With @natalyosmann. #followmeto mysterious Venice. This was the time people thought Nataly was walking naked on the streets :)). Actually she wasn’t - this is just me finding a good angle. First time in Venice and I can definitely say that this was one of the most romantic places we have been to.
P.s I know it is a mask, but always had a feeling that it is looking me right in the eyes, whenever I saw this picture :)
