Known as the 2nd brain of the body; here are a few of the key nutrients I strongly reccomend trying to incorporating into your diet where possible. I'm going to start with B-Vitamins, as there are a few that play different but vital processes when it comes to gut health.

B1. Also known as thiamine, B1 helps your body change the carbohydrates in your diet into energy for your cells and regulate appetite.

B3. Also known as niacin, this vitamin is important for many digestive tract functions, including the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats, and alcohol.

B6. Also known as pyridoxine, B6 is very important in helping your digestive system process the protein you eat.

Biotin. This B vitamin helps your digestive system produce cholesterol and process proteins, carbohydrates, and fatty acids.

This doesn't look super appetizing the way I preparef it, but if you knew this may potentially protect you from getting sick, would you eat it?

So we are in Barcelona, well 20 minutes from city center and thank goodness my boyfriend found us a spacious place with kitchenette and close to Supermarkets, because he got violently sounding sick over night, so this room is perfect for his recovery. We think it was food or water related [remember my stream water post😂]...

Even though I ate the exact same things (plus way too much Brie I brought along, maybe that protected me LOL) I'm fine [knock on wood]. The MAIN difference though is that I drink my superfoods shake.....I believe that the prebiotics in it have helped strengthen my gut microbiome which helps protect you from other invaders [in simple terms]. .

We do other things to do the same, which Bret has been doing himself, but....well this was the only difference. .
.
So while I'm not having it daily because of low travel supply, I think it has an accumulative lasting effect once you have had it on the regular, like I have over the past three years. Justsaying 😁

Great Shoulder pump with the crew @samuelchickey + @invinceable_1 .Just 4 weeks and change out from the goal. EVERY workout has got to be better and improve the physique and mind.
One method incorporated this yr is the enhanced breakdown and volumetric effect to the muscles by hitting poses in between sets.
Having never really focused on this, I can say that my conditioning, energy, focus, mind and body connection and overall lifting IQ has improved dramatically.
More work to do, we aren't done yet! .

This is probably one of the most important posts I’ve put up. Some of us may know that an increasing body of scientific research reveals that our current dietary guidelines are literally killing us. Diets high in healthy fats (nuts, seeds, oils, avocado, salmon) and low in carbs help us live longer and fuller lives. It’s time we increase awareness and change the way we eat. .
Childhood obesity, heart disease, dementia, premature cognitive slowing, diabetes, strokes, autoimmunity are at all time highs. Our current dietary guidelines to limit fats to <30% and increase carbs needs to be changed. Only then can we as a society become healthier and live better.
One thing I’ll always do is put recommendations up ONLY backed by strong solid research. This paper was one of the first to cover such a large patient population over 18 countries, and was published in one of the worlds foremost medical journals. It’s one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it :) .

TRUTH. My digestion has me all messed up...again!😰 not proud, but real life.

My number one digestive complaint...boating and burping. Yep. Attractive, i know!🙄

After i did my 6 week rest last spring i was feeling great, and went back to "my normal" way of eating. Which is pretty clean... but now I'm back to bloating on the daily. I saw my naturopathic dr last week he said i had leaky gut after he did my physical. I wasnt surprised.
.
I love nuts, seeds and dairy, cruciferous veggies, but they dont like me. Also corn. Damn those chips. I've been ignoring my symptoms (cause im in denial!) and now im just done, its not worth it. Those foods i mentioned aren't bad, but for me are. {But i love them, so i eat them. Ugh. Ya feel me??}

So I'm back at it. No more of those foods that bother me, and back on that healing path. AGAIN!

I'm human. I indulge in things i know i shouldn't. I ignore my symptoms. I beat myself up over it. Shame. Guilt. Denial. But guess what? Its fine. I don't dwell on it, I try to learn from it, better myself and grow.

Eating loads of cruciferous veg is one of the BEST things you can do for your gut, your hormones and your overall health. I love that this veg family has so much variety and color - two things you want to look for when cooking for nutrition. These veggies are loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals and nutrients including DIM and sulforaphane which are excellent for gut health and restoring hormone balance!

(Caveat: I’m not very good at measurements and encourage you to add and adapt to how you like it!)
🥦Half head each of broccoli and cabbage, thinly sliced (I like purple cabbage for the color and diverse nutrients but white is good too!)
🥑Half a red onion, thinly sliced
🥦3 cloves of crushed garlic
🥑half an avo, smashed
🥦2cm cube of ginger, crushed
🥑juice of a lime (or lemon)
🥦dress with mustard and mayonnaise (have you tried making your own? it’s only three ingredients egg, oil and vinegar!)
🥑add any other veg you have or like: red pepper, carrot, radish etc
🥦sprouts make an excellent addition to any meal: radish and broccoli sprouts are especially awesome for hormone balance

I remember living with Crohns disease and not believing how my thoughts and inner dialogue played such an important role. I was unfulfilled and thought I wasn't good enough for my career.
