Swipe left for before and after I'll tell ya man, body work and metal fabrication can be so f***ing annoying sometimes.. been doing this for about 5 years now and I sure am lucky I caught this mistake.... when I cut all of the rust out of the hood and welded all new metal in I actually got the steel too hot from the welder and it warped the side.. well I was just about to paint the #f100hood tonight and noticed that the hood was not straight.. so luckily I had the old hood that wasn't cut up yet to go off of... unfortunately I had no choice but to cut a big chunk back out to relieve the stress out of the steel and now she's straight again. So REMINDER! Always be careful with your heat !!!!! #metalwork#fabrication#ingersollrand#smart#ppg#hobart#migwelding#doitrightordontdoitatall
Did a few more things on the trailer today. 1) Plugged a few holes in the trailer tub support and roof rack. 2) Sanded and primed the top of the lid for the first piece of sheet metal. 3) installed the lock for the lid - still needs a little adjustment.
Big let down from @mechanix_wear leather gloves. Two days and the left index finger blew. Didn't even cook this pair. Had a pair of 4x material gloves from them I swear lasted 2+ months till the mig spatter got the best of the back. Have to get a pair ordered. Worse part is I'm traveling for work and this was the closest thing I could find. #fabrication#migwelding
