Learning from mistakes and failures is a HUGE part of my growth as a runner. Last week, my long run was a mess, I turned around early and took the easy way out. It just left me feeling like I had unfinished business with that section of the SHT.
I went back today, with redemption on my mind. I was feeling good, and had told myself that I would take it easy and let my legs, not my mind, do the decision making. Good call. with the auto-lap on my watch turned off, I really just zoned out and ran. I made it past where I had stopped before, and found that if I had gone just a bit further, I would have found nice single track. I also finally got to the river that was my goal. The feeling of redemption is real, and it is good.
